How do i use hair oil on short fine blonde hair?

I got some hair oil in my glossy box - wtf do i do with it that doesnt make me look like i've dipped my head in a chip fryer?

I have the same hair type though longer and only use oils as an overnight teatment otherwise it looks lank.

don't use oil on that type of hair!
