Saggy boobs and strapless bras

The title says it all really. After two kids my boobs are quite saggy and a size 36D. I'm really struggling to find a decent strapless bra that is comfortable and also one that doesn't make them look huge. Does anyone have any suggestiions please?

I just bought these in a 2 pack from Next, very plain but I like that, nice cotton and comfortable. I'm a 34c and mine are definitely - ahem - emptier than pre-DD but these seem to be keeping them aloft!

Wonderbra ultimate strapless. I know you said you wanted one that doesn't make them look huge, but the wonderbra actually gives proper support and some shape rather than that squished, long, super wide boob look that's flat at the top which many strapless bras seem to give. It's also the only strapless bra I've ever worn that doesn't need hoiking up every couple of minutes and is actually comfortable as the moulded "hands" don't dig in like underwire.

I'm 32 DD, very very saggy tennis balls in socks boobs. The Wonderbra one is amazing. Expensive, but worth every penny.

Third the wonderbra one, it is great, I am 30FF and don't think it makes my boobs look any bigger than normal. Some people find they need to go up in the band, I did, I would never have got a 30 on.

Don't be offended, I ask all bra questioners this, are you sure you are a 36D, ie does your chest directly under your boobs measure 36", just checking.

Thank you everyone. I think I will get to Debenhams and try the wonderbra one. I just want to wear strappy tops and maxi dresses this summer and will pay anything! GobblersKnob (great name!) i'm pretty sure I am 36D but bra shopping is so frustrating for me that I could be wrong also each shop seems to size differently. If I could afford it I would have a boob lift.

Just to say Next have got the Wonderbras on special offer at the moment - £24 instead of £34, not sure if it's in stores but definitely online.

jetstlil Thank you Grin To get your bra size you need to measure around your chest directly under your boobs and this is your band size.

Then you need to measure round the fullest part (while wearing a soft bra) to get your cup size.

+1" is an A, +2" is a B, +3" is a C and so on.

So I measure 30 inches around chest and 38 around boobs, 30FF

Some brands have a EE instead of a FF, which obviously would make me a 30F.

Once you have yor rough size you will need to shop around that size according to brand and bra, don't be too ridgid, in my bra drawer I have 30FF, 32F (which are technically the same size), 32FF, 32E and one 30G.

(I have a lot of bras).

Could I hijack for a mo .....

I am also after a comfy strapless bra, but before I bought the wonderbra one, I thought I would just measure myself as per Gobblers instructions.

I came up with 33 under bust, 32 if I pulled tight and 39 on fullest part?

I am currently wearing a 34G, and I though this was quite comfy???

Yup 34G would be about right, depending on the bra, you could also try a 32GG.

I went from thinking I was a 36C to finding out I was a 30FF, but couldn't initally cope with going down so many band sizes, I hated it as it was so tight. This is why I have quate a few 32F's, but now I find they feel quite loose and I really appreciate the extra support and shape from going down an extra band size.

Ooh, thanks for the tip about Next! This is a very well-timed thread.

I have two strapless bras in my wardrobe; one I got married in ten years ago, which is now seriously lacking in elasticity/support, and one I bought when I weared about a stone and a half more than I do now, which sits on my chest like two half-empty bowls. Grin Both are completely inadequate now that strapless weather has arrived.

As soon as I get home from work I will get tape measure out. I tried out my daughters wonderbra but it was way too small so couldn't tell how it would look. She swears by it but she has perky boobs unlike my terrible saggy ones (which I blame her for ha ha ). Thanks for your help and suggestions.

Ok so i've measured and i'm 35 under my bust and 40 around my bust so as a 34" bra would be far too tight I think that makes me a 36? D? Is that right?

Mmm agree that a lot of strapless end up with quivering sausage of stretch marked boob

Yup, 36D you are spot on and I stand corrected. it's just so many women are in the wrong size.

If you can, try on the wonderbra somewhere, even if you end up buying it cheaper online, as your actual measurement is 35 you might be perfectly happy in a 36 band, but like I said it does run tight and you might want to try a 38C/38D as well.

sorry to interupt the thread but dont you add on odd or even numbers to back size? i measure 30 inch around back and 36 inch across bust with soft bra on, im currently wearing an old 36DD which is too big both in cup and back now, i tried on a 34 DD today which was still to lose in back on tightest setting and rode slightly at back and the cup was a bit loose too, the shop didnt do smaller than a 34 back (i live in small town) i have no idea what size i am Confused

No you don't. The old way of measuring was to measure underbust then add 4 it if was an even number 5 if it was odd, this isn't used any more but so many women are still buying the size they were measured ages ago.

With your measurements you should be wearing something around a 30E/32DD

if there is nowhere locally you can buy, I would suggest ordering a massive selection from brastop, post is free over £50 and they are fine about people ordering loads to try on. My first order when I had just found out my true size was £350Shock I only kept three though Grin

You ned to try on different brands and styles, but preferably each one in at least a couple of sizes.

A well fitting bra is a revalation honestly.

i cant believe thats not been made well known i had no idea that the measuring system had changed explains alot, ive just remeasured at 30 under 35 over yes i appear to have lost an inch Confused i had a baby in the last year so their pretty empty and getting a supportive bra is a nightmare Sad i may need to take a trip to city in hopes of getting smaller than a 34 i dont really like ordering online as im so difficult to buy for
