i've done the slathering it on dry hair and leaving it overnight then washing out in the morning. it was greasy for ages still after several washes. it looked awful.

i've done the applying a tiny amount to the length and ends while damp and let it dry naturally but it looked like I'd washed it in the deep fat fryer.

how do i do this? i've seen MNers talking about how swishy and silky their hair is afetr using it. what am i doing wrong and what do i have to do to get it right?

Sorry, I can't help but marking my place - I bought a jar a while ago and have done nothing with it for fear of getting greasy hair!

Washing with hot water? You don't need that much either, you will saturate the hair if you do that

And wash your hair twice in the shower

I think you are putting too much on

ProcrastinateWildly · 29/05/2012 22:15

It did my hair no favours either, just made it dry

the slathering thing was advice given on here by another MNer. was told to saturate teh hair entirely from root to tips and leave overnight tehn wash out with shampoo.

yes i use hot water

I used a 5p sized bit to do the lengths and ends. how much should i use?

and how and where do i apply it and do i do it when it's wet or wait til after i've dried it?

I use a medicine spoon scoop and rub into length and ends (just not roots) then wash out in the morning with 2x shampoo. My hair is perhaps a little lank immediately but after 2nd wash 2 days later it is lovely. Doing this once every month or 2 has made huge difference to condition of my hair. Was very dry before from too many highlights and old age.

medicine spoon, so about 5ml?

and only use once a month? eek? i was applying it after every wash while damp!

I've always used it on my face...
