If you have green eyes what colour eye shadow do you wear?

I am mostly boring and stick to neutrals.

I also have purple which I think looks nice.

Any other green-eyed MNers out there that can help me expand my colour horizons?

TIA Smile

Brown for day time but silver at night Grin

Gertiegoolash · 28/05/2012 22:02

Reddish browns bring out the green, I also like slate greys and charcoal colours. Moss greens can also look nice. And pinky purples .

Spuddybean · 28/05/2012 22:06

pale lilac for the day and then in the evening it varies, dark shimmery or smokey purples, blues and charcoal greys, metallic blue or green, a coppery orange.

Never browns or neutrals too boring

SkinnyVanillaLatte · 28/05/2012 22:07

bronze/copper mainly. Or heather.

Spuddybean · 28/05/2012 22:07

I'd try on loads from Mac. If you fancy a colour change it's a great range to choose from.

SkinnyVanillaLatte · 28/05/2012 22:09

Sometimes a stormy bluey grey.

BasilDonna · 28/05/2012 22:13

Nars Charade which is a neutralish purple.
Nars Mandchourie - denim blue
and a Shu dark purple - must be 10 years old now.
Can't do bronzes, browns or coppers

TheFallenMadonna · 28/05/2012 22:18

Matt Brown

Charcoal grey

Navy blue.

UnexpectedItemInShaggingArea · 28/05/2012 22:22

Hmmm... I'd always avoided blue because I thought it wouldn't suit but I like the idea of darker blue.

And moss green sounds good too.

Impress by the Silver Tigresswoods - where does one purchase Silver eye shadow?

Gold and all types of sandy colour
Khaki
Deep purple
Lilac
Dark grey/black (evenings obv)

Can't wear brown or blue, or anything with a reddy or copper undertone. Brown looks muddy, copper makes me look like a rabbit with myxamatosis, blue just looks odd.

TheFallenMadonna · 28/05/2012 22:28

It's not just eye colour is it? In fact, skin tone must be more important, because if I wore gold or sandy colours... just no!

AuntieMaggie · 28/05/2012 22:31

Peachy colours too

Mine are green grey :)

ThatVikRinA22 · 28/05/2012 22:31

the most amazing thing i ever discovered that made my green eyes really really stand out was a really bright pink lipstick! i was a bridesmaid - i wore a shimmery dark pink dress and got a really shimmery but bright pink lippy - it really really made my eyes stand out more than anything ive ever worn on them!

BellaVita · 28/05/2012 22:33

Moss green.
Browns
Greys

monkeysmama · 28/05/2012 22:33

Bronze eyeliner for day when I feel like it. Navy blue looks nice for evening when I want something a little more natural than purple.

EllenParsons · 29/05/2012 00:16

I have greeny hazel eyes and I usually wear browns and neutral colours on my eyes (usually a couple of shades from soap & glory what's nude palette, cheap at about a tenner and really nice). Otherwise it is often lilacs and purples as I heard they are supposed to contrast well with green and hazel. I am not very adventurous!

JessieEssex · 29/05/2012 12:16

I almost always wear pinky browns which I think suit my eyes and skin tone but the other day I tried a more terracotta colour, which really made my green eyes pop out (not literally, I might complain about that...)

I kept looking in the mirror and thinking what nice eyes I have!

thestringcheesemassacre · 29/05/2012 12:18

Grey/Blue and Purples for night

Neutrals for day

I have greenish hazel eyes and pale/fair skin and dark (greying!) hair and what i do is this: if you think that the opposite or whats called the complementary colour to green is red then go for colours in this family e.g. - pinks/ purples/ violet/peach/terracotta/apricot.

I also use a charcoal grey and a blue-black sometimes

brighthair · 29/05/2012 14:26

I wear corals, coppers, bronze and gold a lot. Especially Mac coppering which really makes my eyes pop, or Mac paradisco

I love makeup though so I experiment a lot. Did a peacock look with purple/green/gold and that looked good

get0rfm0iland · 29/05/2012 14:28

Peacock look sounds lovely. i am too old for that kind of caper though. Grin

PorkyandBess · 29/05/2012 14:31

My friend has very pale green eyes the cow.

She wears a goldy colour eye shadow and it looks fabulous.

Spuddybean · 29/05/2012 18:13

I agree, it does depend on the rest of your colouring. My eyes are bluey green, not the hazel/browny type. So they are pale and bright rather than dark and smouldering. I also have fair skin and a few freckles with very dark chocolate brown hair.

Also agree the lipstick affects it too. There is one from estee lauder (sort of shimmery coral) and when i put it on people stop me to tell me how bright my eyes are.

jazzchickens · 29/05/2012 18:23

I usually wear a bronze colour. Sometimes I wear it with a teal colour eye liner which seems to bring out the flecks of colour in my eyes.
