Just bought the Me & Em maxi. Well I had a code..

OllieinOrange · 11/06/2012 07:51

Oh and I ordered some new white jeans from Gap with the 30% off code and threw in the navy/white striped maxi as a last ditch attempt to find one that suits me. If it doesn't, I am officially retiring from shopping for one

blossoming · 11/06/2012 08:06

ollie, the weather was so bad last week I forgot all about it! Sunny here this morning, and I'm looking forward to going back to work, both jobs for the next 3 weeks, then 3 weeks, then summer holiday.
Wouldn't one of these maxis suit your brief?
Nightmare about the nanny apuski, hope you find an alternative soon.

this is a good hat website ollie. Caters for all budgets.

Love the Wiggles!

apusk sorry to hear re nanny, has happened to me in the past and I found it stressful until I found someone new (who was just as nice)

annie that sounds like a wonderful idea (dancing night)

ants I have ordered your FCUK renoir top in the sale! It looked so good!

FritziGreenEyes · 11/06/2012 08:17

Hiding from our cleaner in my study. I'm surrounded by piles of books, unfinished paperwork, random stuff on my desk. Floor is covered with things to ebay, parcels to take to the post office and other things that haven't got a proper place in our house.

Have to write four pages about the upcoming Olympics for school textbook. Deadline is actually today Confused. Book will not be published until after the event so I find it difficult to write about it really. . Maybe I'll start with a ten minute clean-up and then the ideas will flow Smile. Oh and a coffee and a nice ham and cheese croissant from our mock-French bakery down the road.

notyummy · 11/06/2012 08:20

Stop with the pictures of the maxis!! Wink

Your day sounds lovely Ollie. We had a burst of sunshine for an hour in Lincs yesterday and I scurried outside in shorts and tee shirt, cut the grass and sat out on the patio in a desperate attempt to avoid vit D deficiency!

SE - I have also heard good things about the Wiggles. DD now moving slowly towards tweendom and has requested JLS and Jessie J CDs for her 6th birthday next month. On questioning it became clear that she had no idea who JLS are so we wont bother with that (she had just heard older girls talking about them.) Will get the Jessie J one though. The other things she wants are a magic set and a Famous Five book. How terribly 1958! Grin

Such good news about your dad Dauphin.

Off to London again today. Quite pleased with outfit although I fear I may get drenched. I do have a brolly! In silk patterned Inwear skirt with blue silk blouse and navy Mango blazer, plus nude fishnets and heels. This is one of the days I could have done with a chic brief case. Next month I will do it!

FritziGreenEyes · 11/06/2012 08:25

So wrapped up in my own mess that I totally forgot to type responses to some posts I managed to catch up with.

apuski So sorry to hear about nanny situation. Fingers crossed you'll find someone new and great soon. How much time do you have?

annie / notyummy Love the sound of your blustery mini-MU in park with DDs and nice food!

amber Hope you had a chance to recover over the weekend. How are you feeling?

pickled Great tutorial for doing links. Wink Bet you are a fantastic teacher!

Feel inspired by reports of nights out but at the same time feel utterly exhausted and as soon as DD is in bed the only thing I want to do is curl up on the sofa with a glass of wine and a DVD. And maybe DH (as long as I get to choose the film!) Blush

Im joining Fritzi in the procrastinators corner - so much for having a productive day.... I kinda got lost and had a lovely hour on NAP after clicking on Bloss's maxi link - that Splendid dress is lovely thanks Bloss, its the same style as the Gap one so if the stripes are too much, I may well consider. Will it be reduced in the sale I wonder?

I love, love, love this JCrew dress here - not sure it fits the HoC natural profile but v tempted. Would be able to wear into A/W with opaques and flats.

And also liked these navy patent peep toes from JL here and thought this peter pan jumper was v sweet for the gamines amongst you. here

SE that sounds grim! Is it a flooded drain or proper flooding everywhere? Might abandon trip to Waitrose planned later if it doesn't cheer up a bit.

Am constructing a spreadsheet Blush of my current wardrobe and the gaps in it, complete with shopping list and budget per item. It is very silly, but it makes me happy Grin

AmberNectarine · 11/06/2012 09:21

Yes, I must jump on the tedious organisational bandwagon and get list-making for our week away.

Chaos here, after noticing a strangely mountainous effect under the lino (I know, I know - it was here when we moved in!) in our kitchen I asked my dad to pop round and take a look. Turns out the dishwasher has been leaking for some months and the delightful chipboard floor has warped beyond repair. My dad knelt on a wet bit and now there is a hole into the void beneath the house. Happily it gives us an excuse for a new floor. Only going for laminate as its quick and easy to clean, but it will be so nice not to have dodgy w

AmberNectarine · 11/06/2012 09:27

FGS, dodgy wood effect lino!

I'm feeling better, but not as better as I would like fritzi, thanks for asking. I'm not the best patient in the world, and I'm fed up of having a sore throat now. Also the antibiotics have brought me out in an awful rash. Must be better by Thurs as I have a date with the HN sale!

I like that maxi ollie, good buy.

Hope your day is as productive as you hope fritzi

Great results hopefully, I'm getting v frustrated at being unable to exercise.

SE, that sounds awful! Hope things dry out v quickly!

Hopefully · 11/06/2012 09:32

Amber do you have any idea when the Donna Ida sale is? Debating whether to order 881s from shopbop, but seem to recall them being cheaper in last Donna Ida sale.

Hopefully · 11/06/2012 09:33

Clearly that should be 811s.

Hopefully · 11/06/2012 09:34

And boo to the broken house, but good that you get a new floor Amber!

Did somebody ask the other day why I want a suit? The answer is that I don't, but if I find a jacket in the right colour and style, the chances are the trousers/skirt will be too. I have no real pressing desire to wear them together Grin

FritziGreenEyes · 11/06/2012 09:43

Study looking better already. Under a pile of paper I even discovered the novel I bought in Brighton and couldn't find since unpacking last weekend Blush.

every That is terrible! When will it be fixed?

amber Hope your kitchen floor won't take too long until it gets sorted out.

ollie I like the dress you linked to but saw that the model is only 10cms taller than you are and that might make the dress a bit too short for you. IIRC the perfect length for you was on the knee or only very slightly above?

hopefully I hope the weather will improve and you get to go outside soon. Keeping yourself busy with a spreadsheet sounds pretty awful to me but then we are probably very opposite personalities Wink

FritziGreenEyes · 11/06/2012 09:46

My excuse for being on the thread and not busily scribbling on my manuscript is that I got interrupted by delivery man who brought me a pair of Clark's sandals mentioned on 40bumlady's blog, here. Not sure if they will work for me but I didn't have to pay any postage for once so thought it might be worth a shot. Will try on later and report back.

OllieinOrange · 11/06/2012 10:02

Gap sale as started

notyummy · 11/06/2012 10:04

Nice sandals Fritzi.

I have just looked at the weather forecast for the 'Summer' Ball I am going to on Friday. 10C, heavy rain and 19 knots of wind. FFS Angry. Now, militray Officers Messes have been running Balls for many years and always plan events well with marquees etc in case of bad weather, but there are always lots of nice outdoor thuings to do as well which now be scuppered. And friends of mine are having a pre-Ball drinks party at which I was going I was going to waft around at gulping sipping Pimms and champagne in their nice garden. Now she will have to have us all inside. Really hacked off with the weather at the moment.

Disclaimer: That all sounded completely self cented and trivial (which it is) and I apologise to those of you with real life proper flooding issues like SE.

FritziGreenEyes · 11/06/2012 10:09

Have decided that Gap-Sale should be top priority on my to-do list for this morning. Was planning on having a coffee anyway Grin

Argh, DH trapped at work by flooding Shock. He works on the sea front at the end of one long road, so no alternate routes. They can always motor up the river to the nearest marina I suppose! Grin

AmberNectarine · 11/06/2012 10:40

Good thing we've got this hosepipe ban given the terrible drought.

hopefully mid-June was the best I could get out of them. Shops are keeping sales v quiet this year. Selfridges still not announced though it must be this week... I got two pairs of 811s for £50 each in the Selfridges sale, Harrods had them for c.£75. I think red got hers in the HN sale.
Really don't need any more jeans but if I see a pair in Heliotrope at the right price I will have to buy...

pickledsiblings · 11/06/2012 10:45

Oh Fritzi, I tried on the shoe vesion of that sandal yesterday, 'twas v. comfy but too high Shock. I think I have decided to move away from heels after some lengthy people watching in Cambridge yesterday. Out of the hundreds of people I saw, only 2 women were wearing heels/wedges and both looked uncomfortable. Have decided that flat is more flat -er-ing, for shopping anyway Grin.

SE, hope your day improves. If the drains are blocked you'll most likely have to call someone but if not you can probably hose down the mess when the water subsides.
