Have purchased the Anya clutch! Thank you decam so much. Am very happy, it has really lifted my spirits after a few tough days at home. Think DH has noticed I'm a little blue (groan, sorry no pun intended) as he's sorted babysitter for Saturday night and is taking me out. If only clutch could be here now!

Loved your outfit plus raoul on the other thread amber!

How quick is matches standard delivery? My first order from them. Unrealistic to think it might arrive Saturday when I just ordered this evening?

Thanks annie. Know you are right. Just very tired and feeling bit claustrophobic at the minute.

AmberNectarine · 31/05/2012 22:37

I linked to that bag months ago annie and got roundly told it was horrible - glad someone shares my taste! Yes, have friends whose nannies are clock-watchers so knowing my luck I'd get one of those.

MarshaBrady · 31/05/2012 22:43

I'm not sure it would come by Saturday Blue.

But have a great time, anyway. Glad your dh has stepped up. Tis nice.

I'm so glad you've ordered it, Blue. Matches can take a couple of days but I'm sure it is worth waiting for! Enjoy your night out.

Annie, I really like your bag too. Great colour.

Dh is only just home and very fed up, I feel sorry for him. He reckons it will be like this until end of June (weekends included).

Marsha, a corgi, that's fantastic.

Thanks Hopefully, I will have to fit in a couple of shoe shops in the hour I have in Westfield. Will go armed with lots of rice cakes and bananas for DD2.

It is, and like you he will probably have only a brief period of respite before it starts all over again.

Are these the M&S shoes? I have red Stuart Weitzman wedges would that work with the Me&Em dress? Or nude high heels but I haven't worn heels that high since before DD1 was born. I have a family night out in Dublin so want to wear the cap sleeve dress.

OllieinOrange · 01/06/2012 07:39

Well that was not the relaxing start to my trip i had planned. Wide awake from 2 til 4 am for no apparent reason then arrived at the airport to find the easyjet check in que out of the door of the airport. Took ages then mad dash for gate so no Starbucks, the only place over here that has it. Oh well, at least im boarding on time!!! And relax!

MarshaBrady · 01/06/2012 07:44

Airports are madness these days. Berlin was chocko block.Takes ages to get through.

Decam that's tough, hope you can get a well-earned break and treat together.

You too Annie. The bag's great btw.

MidnightinMoscow · 01/06/2012 09:11

Morning.

Good news on the clutch blue, and how lovely of your DH. Hope that you have a good time on Saturday.

Decam that is hard for the both of you, him for the hours at work and you having to pick up everything else. Must be really difficult for you. I hope that soon you'll get a bit of break and get a bit of time together.

Hope the rest of your journey is ok Ollie. Am really looking forward to all the feedback about style days.

Interesting about the whole Nanny/nursery situation. I have decided to stick with nursery, despite the ££££ for the two DC's. Annoyingly for DH and I, we tend to use up our 'getting home late' allowance for staying late at work rather than social events. He makes up time for leaving a 5pm to do the nursery pick up 3 days/week and I stay late every bloody day I work, because I am doing my full time role in three days!

Range of colours if you loom around. The ones that you linked to look potentially handy for work. I find the M and S ones very comfy but they are slightly too high for everyday use for me, whereas the ones you linked to look like they could fit that category. The hours your DH works sound absolutely punishing. Is there no way any of it could be done at home? I work nearly every night (plus some time at weekends) but at least I am able to do it from home, so can see DD/eat with DH and then switch the lap top on.

Ollie - sounds a little too exciting! I had to run for my London train yesterday in my smart va va voom Phase 8 dress and jacket - pelting throuh the station shouting 'Excuse me!'. Thanmkfully was in semi-sensible Clarks heels so running was an option!

Annie - that laptop bag is great. I am seriously tempted, although not sure about the colour. I have a ruck sac Blush, which in my defense rarely needs to go anywhere but from the house to the car, or from my car parking space to my desk. I don't carry it around town!

Marsha - thanks a lot for the PM. Looks great. Looks like we can make it, but I am meeting MIL at a staton in London where she is bringing DD back to meet me, so I think it will be 2pm at the earliest before we will arrive. I have some mobile numbers and will hopefully see you all if not too far away from original location on the map.

Hi, he works from home in the evening sometimes, NY but a 10 hour day minimum is expected and it is an hour's commute each way so he never makes it home in time anyway. He has three monitors on his desk and finds it easier with that set-up (he's a quant developer) than working on the laptop from home. He said last night that he couldn't do it without me holding the fort so that was nice to hear.

Thanks for the shoes link, I think I'll order them in black. I bought these which I have been thinking about getting for a while and this Farhi top (on sale, yahoo!). Also got some stuff for the DDs and shared a danish with DD2. She is not missing her purées at all! It is hard to get to Westfield and back within three hours but we managed. :)

Sorry you'll have to bring work with you, Annie. Hope you have a good time regardless.

Russianred · 01/06/2012 17:04

Decam you're very god at waiting for things to appear in the sales, aren't you? Good spot.

Am in the throes of the nursery vs nanny dilemma. Love, love the nursery where DS is now and DD can start in September, but the total cost for both per day is £80 (including free hours DS already gets). Also, we have to pay through the holidays for DD, which is a bit of a pain, what with us being teachers and all. I don't want to be cost-driven, but have to consider it. How do those with nannies feel about it? I'm not instantly drawn to the idea, but can't articulate why. Thoughts?

Hope Fritzi and Ollie have arrived safely - keep us updated with your shenanigans please!

pickledsiblings · 01/06/2012 17:18

Red, my DC went to the nursery of our local Independent Prep School. It was fab, took vouchers and had extended hours, oh and you didn't have to pay for the holidays obviously. Do you have anything similar near you?

OllieinOrange · 01/06/2012 18:19

Hello from sunny brighton! Am here with the lovely Fritzi in the hotel which is v swanky (trendy frosted glass loo door tho - hmm). Had a lovely potter around the shops. Between us we tried most of the WC collection on (i got a navy jersey v neck dress) and left to my own devices i picked some great pale grey chinos and sandals in the NL sale and a nice top from Jigsaw - knotted front v neck in smokey navy colour. Replenished our M&S pants stock too. Heading off for dinner soon then an early night after a spot of Boden preview browsing!
