Every how many weeks for what?

DD about to turn 3, DS is 18 months. After three years in the wilderness I finally feel I am turning a corner and can devote some more time to me.

I never really had a "schedule of maintenance" pre DC, I just got stuff done as and when needed. Now, with the fall-out of two pregnancies behind me and feeling and looking a decade older I need to take things in hand a bit.

So, preamble over, how often do you do the following:

Eyebrow/lash wax and tint (no threading available here)

Leg/armpit wax

Haircut

Hair colour

Facial

Mani/Pedi

Other - eg Reiki/massage/acupuncture/whatever you consider necessary as part of a well being routine

Eyebrow/lash wax and tint - never

Leg/armpit wax - never, shave when need to or am going to expose hairy bits to the world

Haircut - every 6 months, long hair, just needs a trim and highlights re doing (have fringe trimmed every 8 weeks or so)

Hair colour - as above, twice a year

Facial - never occasionally do a home facial if I find a mysterious pot of something buried in my bathroom cabinet

Mani/Pedi - never professionally, but will paint toes myself when I need to expose them.

Other - eg Reiki/massage/acupuncture/whatever you consider necessary as part of a well being routine - erm, nothing else, can't afford it.

Eyelash tint - I do a DIY job (very successfully) every month

I don't wax, but epilate. Every couple of weeks.

I have my hair cut (very expensive) every six weeks.

I no longer colour my hair (I did pre-DD) but will need to again soon Sad

I hardly ever have a facial but take very good care of my skin.

I have a pedicure when I have my hair cut and sometimes have a manicure too.

Am considering Botox.

I have my eyebrows threaded every two-three weeks. Costs £2.

Long hair trimmed every 2-3 months and fringe trimmed every 3-4 weeks. I don't colour it but have an Aveda conditioning treatment most times which lasts weeks.

I shave armpits and legs in shower every other day usually and get bikini line done every month in summer and use immac at home in winter.

Mani every two weeks and pedi every two weeks in summer too. Tis cheap in London.

I do a mini facial at home once a month and have a spa one every four months. I love a massage but have them as treats.

Taking ten minutes after LOs bedtime to remove makeup and put a facial oil and night cream on makes a big difference to me. Then in the morning I have a quick shower, dry fringe in a minute and put make up on.

Eyebrow, leg and bikini wax (and now upper lip [sob]) every 3-4 weeks in summer, every 4-6 weeks in winter.

Haircut: short hair so every 6 weeks

Hair colour: when it's really awful, but tending to every 3 months (not frequent enough really)

Facial: never, don't like them.

Mani/pedi: Pedis usually before a holiday, and DIY in between. Manis, now I've discovered Gelish, will be trying to go every 6 weeks or so, I think, and in between, keep nails short with clear base coat, and regular solar oil to keep up condition.

Other: I consider what I to do loads already, and couldn't face doing anymore.

Do my own everything at home bar botox. I really look after my skin though and spend about half an hour a day and do legs and any other bits like fake tan on sundays. The reiki is something I would thoroughly recommend if you can afford it

startail · 30/05/2012 11:29

I have my hair cut two or three times a year and coloured once or twice.

It needs it far more often, but I don't work so Xmas and weddings is really all I can justify.

Other stuff, I've had my eyebrows neatened once because some one was doing it at the hairdressers.

I'd love the stubble on my lip chin waxed, but I'm a coward.

startail · 30/05/2012 11:32

Can't think why I'd want to spend money on nails top or bottom.

I paint my toe nails, my finger nails just break, and are always grubby. A fancy manicure would have to be false nails and I'd break or chew them in 5 minutesBlush

Eyebrow/lash wax and tint (no threading available here)
Never. I just pluck the stragglers daily.

Leg/armpit wax
Never - quick shave daily in the shower

Haircut
Once every 2-3 months

Hair colour
3-4 times a year

Facial
Never. Sometimes put a facepack on in the bath and exfoliate once or twice a week

Mani/Pedi
Never. I hate anyone fiddling with my cuticles. My toenails are always painted though. They get redone maybe once a month, more often if they are chipped. I don't bother with fingernails any more as it never seems to look good for more than a day.

AllRiseForHerVaj · 30/05/2012 17:16

I have my eyebrows shaped and my 'tash removed every 4-6 weeks

I shave my own legs every other day, but get my bikini waxed when I'm going on holiday and only then Grin. I give myself a bit of a trim once a monht or so though...

Hair cut every 6 weeks (and dye it at home myself every 6 weeks)

I have a facial about twice a year, would love to have a monhtly facial, but too pricey

Manicure once a week, pedi once fornight in summer, once a month the res of the time

I have a massage about once a year, would love a weekly massage Grin

I do teeth whitening at home and do it every 4 months or so.

Botox every 4 months Shock Just a tiny bit on my 11s as otherwise i look like a cross witch.

VerityClinch · 30/05/2012 17:26

I'm contemplating botox for my vertical frown line (is that the 11's). Wondered if a more holistic approach (reiki, acupuncture, good maintenance routine, regular facials etc) might remove the need but I suspect I am kidding myself there.

I've booked brows and lashes for next week, pedicure and haircut the week after, so far. I think I need a kind of six week rolling programme to keep on top of it all...Confused

JaxTellerIsMyFriend · 30/05/2012 17:33

on S&B there is a thread for gly something stuff for the 11's. Wink

I have my eyebrows waxed/tinted every 6-8 weeks and pluck strays inbetween.

Bikini line done when going on holiday or more regular in summer, when I swim more often. Blush

Hair, cut/coloured every 8-12 weeks and fringe trimmed inbetween times.

Shave legs/armpit every other day. Manicure/pedicure once a month in summer. Nails are done with bio sculpture gel so last 2-3 weeks depending on how harsh I am on them. In winter they last mostly 3 weeks.

FAcials/massage etc when I feel like my skin/body needs a boost.

MABS · 30/05/2012 17:53

Eyebrow/lash wax and tint (no threading available here) 5 weeks

Leg/armpit wax 5 weeks

Haircut 6 weeks

Hair colour 6 weeks

Facial monthly

Mani/Pedi every 3 weeks

Tan - every 2 weeks

Manicure - Monthly.

All beauty at salon at gym and hair in salon in town.

minipie · 30/05/2012 18:03

Eyebrow/lash wax and tint - never. I pluck every so often.

Leg/armpit wax - never. I shave legs every few days when it's sunny, every fortnight or so when it's no. Shave pits every other day-ish.

Haircut - every 3 months ish (have long hair)

Hair colour - every 3 months ish (have highlights)

Facial - never

Mani/Pedi - never. DIY feet every so often in summer.

Other - eg Reiki/massage/acupuncture/whatever you consider necessary as part of a well being routine - massage every few months, it's a treat rather than necessary IMO.
