Nice rucksacks

Does anyone know of anywhere I can get a rucksack that isn't:

a) all hikey outdoorsy funtionaly
b) all surfey patterny outdoorsy
c) all cartoony childy gaudy

Something in oil cloth maybe (but not Cath Kidstone), or canvas, or leather, not too expensive, big enough for out & about with baby stuff. I generally sling or wrap DS, so want a rucksack so my arms/hands stay free. Haven't seen what I'm looking for yet, but not sure entirely what it is I'm looking for... Any ideas gratefully received!

I agree, I am looking for pretty much the same thing! Now with 2 dc to carry everything for. I would go for option b if nothing else better was around if I liked it enough but don't want to spend a fortune. Some of the purpose designed baby change rucksacks are lovely but also mega bucks! If I find anything I'll post a link but I haven't been very lucky so far!

Have a little look at accessorize (sp?) I saw a few in there yesterday some subtle union flag ones looked nice Smile

I don't do rucksacks but I know there are a few in Grazia this week in a 100 things under £100 spread. I noticed cos a friend had been looking for one on a recent shopping trip and they were all nicer than any we'd seen on that trip. Pretty sure they were all v cheap ie less than £20. It's the Grazia with rihanna on the cover - you could sneak a peek in the supermarket!

The accessorise ones don't usually have padded straps- same with some of the troop ones. And the comfy hiking ones are always hideous! I've been looking for ages.

Kipling have some nice ones - not outdoorsy hiking , quite simple and light material, plain but bright colours (mine is poppy red) and trimmed with brown leather and suede with canvas straps. I was looking for one for a non depressing non patterned one ages too and this is the closest I've found. Not cheap though - about £60 I think ( but justified it for myself on pay per wear basis.....).

Kanken / Fjallraven?
The vintage ones are nice, though a bit pricey.
