What do you do with it?

I tried using some last week, I put a cap full in a washing up bowl with water and dunked my head in it for a while, my hair ended up all dry and sticky, I had to wash it again (it got done 4x in total) it's still dry now It's starting to get nice and greasy near the scalp but the rest (I have long hair) is still terribly dry, don't think I'll wash it for a few weeks, could be the weathers doing not sure.

I just put a drop in my hand, warm it by rubbing it between my palms, and then apply it by smoothing it over my hair from roots to ends. I do this after washing and before blow-drying every day. I also sometimes use it as a leave-in treatment while I bath. Put about 4 drops on dry hair, leave it for 20 minutes, comb through and wash out. Simple!
Think you might be over-complicating it...

Cheers do you all ways wash it out?

No, most days I wash, then apply it andOoo leave it in to blow dry it. I see it as a styling product and leave-in conditioner in one.
I only wash it out if I use it as a treatment before washing.

Not sure where the Ooo came from! Must learn to preview..

Also, what sort of hair oil are you using. Check the ingredients, some hair "oils" are in fact full of silicone which can make hair feel sticky.

I use pure cosmetic grade argan oil, tiny bit rubbed into hands, then through hair after shower.

I use ojon oil once a week, I wash it out. The smell is striking and not particularly pleasant so I only leave it in for about half an hour or sometimes while in the bath as the warmth makes it work even better. Warm in my hands and then from root to end , ensure spread with wide tooth comb. It had transformed my hair

I use Argan - only a tiny amount smoothed onto wet hair then blow dry.

nomorefrizz · 26/05/2012 21:59

As my name suggests always interested in hair oil. What is ojon oil?

valiumredhead · 27/05/2012 15:05

I remember doing some 'research' on Ojon and iirc it is coconut oil, which is amazing for hair but only £2 a tub from Waitrose.

whackamole · 27/05/2012 15:11

I have very very very dry curly hair, I sometimes use Argan oil (not at the moment as I have run out and it's too expensive) and I put it on wet hair then style, or some on dry hair. My hair drinks product it's so porous, so it can take quite a lot before it looks any different.

valiumredhead · 27/05/2012 15:14

I have bought Argan oil from Amazon for a tenner, not too bad as it lasts ages. I remember someone saying it is cheap in Boots atm...I don't think I am making that up but don't quote me on it!

Ryoko · 27/05/2012 16:17

It's KTC Almond Oil, I bought it for a moisturiser because it was cheaper then on the net and looked it up to see if it was fine as it has no ingredients on the bottle. Thought I might as try it on my hair too as thats whats it's sold as.
