Good quality skinny or slim leg maternity jeans/trousers ...

that don't lose their shape after one wash?

I have bought two, an ASOS pair which is quite comfortable but the legs have gone baggy after only two wears, and another quite expensive pair online which is even worse!

Any suggestions? I'm happy to spend some money on them if they stay in shape! I think the quality of the denim of the two I've bought is not great, even the expensive pair.

Topshop Leigh's are nice, very skinny and don't bag. They are under the bump though so they didn't fit for the last couple of months.

I've got a nice pair of white slim leg jeans from Seraphine; they're the kind with a narrow band across the top which is my most comfortable style at the moment. At this point I should probably admit that they're supposed to be cropped ones but on my 5'3" they're the perfect full length...

I sold all my ASOS maternity jeans a few months in - the colours were lovely but quality was crap. My best maternity jeans are J Brands but they're not cheap (look on eBay?) I really rate H&M's skinny maternity jeans and chinos too. They have a full bump band which is far more comfy especially towards the end imo and helps them fit properly.

I liked my Gap Always Skinny under the bump jeans, and haven't had any probs wearing them up till full term. I think they do an over bump version too now.

Lexiesgirl · 26/05/2012 12:20

I lived in my Topshop Baxter maternity jeans, they were sort of over the bump.

I've got some from Seraphine which have worn well so far and have a flattering shape.

I have found that where the elastic is joined to the denim, they rub quite annoyingly though.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I had a pair on under the bump in my first pregnancy and I wouldn't get along with them - very uncomfortable and always fell down. I like the over the bump style of the pairs I have in terms of comfort but not the lack of quality.
I forgot about topshop and gap though, will have to check them out. I'm nowhere near Seraphine to try on there so might give that a miss. Hmm, might see about JBrands too - if I can find them in a sale!

I found the Gap ones weren't tight enough on the legs if you like proper skinnies and the skinniest Topshop ones don't have a full bump band. Check out the H&M ones if you want them skinny and soft. I have white Seraphine ones I love but they're a straight leg and heavy denim. J Brands really are worth it. Do you know anyone in/going to the States? A lovely friend of mine brought my second pair back for me and they were half the price they are here.

VeronicaSpeedwell · 27/05/2012 13:04

I agree that the Gap ones definitely aren't proper skinnies and are thus misnamed; I just suggested them because the OP asked for skinnies or slim leg. The Gap ones are in the latter category.

How does that half-bump band feel on the Topshop skinnies once your bump gets past the second tri? Is it comfortable?

I don't mind how skinny they are (ie skinny or more straight cut) as long as they don't get baggy!

I really want to try the j brand ones now but if I order from the US without trying them on I know I am going to have to pay for postage to send them back to get the right size which would just add to the price!

I found the Topshop ones really, really comfy even the day before I dropped. The band might look like it sits somewhere weird but actually it sits nicely on the bump - in fact, I preferred it to complete over-the-bump bands as they made me so hot. Under the bumps trousers always seemed to leave me flashing half an inch of belly, though as I'm only 5'1 I have no idea how that happened!

lovemygirlivy · 29/05/2012 11:44

I found the topshop ones super comfy - the band really supports your tummy.

whitelillies · 29/05/2012 15:01

I loved my topshop jeans - found them the best!
