Two issues - fake tan and eye liner

On a mumsnetter's recommendation I bought Palmer's fake tan and while it amazingly enough gives mne colour I am still rubbish at putting it on right as I have missed bits and streaks Confused. I always scrub first and moisturise when I remember.

I have hazel coloured eyes and have worn brown eyeliner for years. I spent ages looking for a light brown and there is none to be had. Do I stick with the regulr brown or try a different colour Confused.

You'd be better using a fake tan that leaves a guide brown colour then you can see if you have missed any areas.

For an eyeliner try looking for a taupe brown. Ir's like a muted soft brown not brown /black. I bought my MIl a Loreal one for Xmas but I can't remember the shade as that was the shade I was looking for.

This one is coloured when I put it on but I still do it all wrong.

I am liking the sound of the dark navy as black is too harsh I think.

Thank you Smile.

Grey is lovely on green eyes.

I use st tropez tan. Apply fast. On front of. Mirror.

lumbago · 25/05/2012 15:48

I prefer Clinique gel liner to bb.
Also Arden / Lauder whoever double wear pencil in graphite. Lovely soft finish. The only pencil I've ever finished.

GobblersKnob · 25/05/2012 15:53

These are the best eye liners I have ever used, they are soft, waterproof, amazing colours. (US site but you can get them in Boots).

Tan, I like the Garnier spray, but always seem to over-do my bum, never get streaks anywhere else.

EllenParsons · 25/05/2012 16:52

Gobblers, you have urban decay in your Boots?! Where do you live? Do you know if any of the London Boots have urban decay? (I want to buy their naked pallette but would be great if I could get it for free on Boots points instead of paying!)

valiumredhead · 25/05/2012 16:55

I got my naked pallets from ebay for £18 ellen

GobblersKnob · 25/05/2012 16:57

I live in a biggish city. If you google Boots and London, you should be able to get hone numbers of branches. Ring em and check.

tangerinajolie · 25/05/2012 17:02

You've got to try violet eyeliner - it looks amazing with hazel eyes!

BadgersRetreat · 25/05/2012 17:04

Just fab - when you say you scrub and moisturise - do you mean you moisturise before you put the fake tan on?

if so that could be your problem....always scrub but don't moisturise for 24 hours before tanning....or it won't soak in...sort of slides about a bit instead IYKWIM ??

JustFab · 25/05/2012 17:13

Moisturise before sometimes but I didn't this time and still had the same result.

Violet? Really?

I went too so many make-up counters the other day but no one offered to help me or even acknowledged I was there so I left.

Are you using a fake tan mitt? You need one of those. They are idiot proof That and a decent tanner. here

I have green to hazel eyes and always wear a fine line of chocolate shimmer gel eyeliner by Bobbi Brown. Costs about £20 but will last 3/4 years. Then I overline softly with either a purple liner, blended gently in. Or a green eyeliner - same again, softly blended. Just the hint of colour brings out the colour of my eyes whilst the brown gel liner does the job of framing my eyes and making my lashes look longer.

Don't forget to curl your eyelashes too.

lumbago · 25/05/2012 20:45

Mitt?!

Weaklings

Pinot · 25/05/2012 20:47

When you're a blue skinned redhead you neeeeeeeeed the mitt! How's your back, alright now?

lumbago · 25/05/2012 20:48

Oh thanks. Was one day wonder.
Or horror.

Pinot · 25/05/2012 20:52

Ah good. I use a half moon memory foam pillow for when I read in bed - tucked under the top of my thighs, it just takes the strain away from lower back. It doesn't feel different, but it means I don't get that muscle spasm when I get up.

Other than that though, I am all glamour m'kay? :o

Pelicano · 25/05/2012 20:53

Urban Decay Underground is a very easy brown to wear, not dark but medium. Boots stopped selling Urban Decay here so I buy from Debenhams.

I also bought Dior Elegant Taupe eyeliner but really can't tell I've got anything on when wearing itapart from a faint sparkle.

JustFab · 25/05/2012 20:55

Sussex is a bit far I think Sad.
