Fit flop help

I have lost all my summer footwear - well, 2 pairs of sandals! I had a pair of Birkentocks, which I hardly ever wore as the toe post irritated me and a pair of normal sandals. I have no idea where I put them - been through the loft, shoe box etc.. So I need to buy some new sandals, something I hate doing as they never fit me properly.

I have been looking at fit flops - like these ones with no toe post.
I have narrow feet - anyone know if these are ok for the narrower foot? I don't like their slimmest style sandal - the Pietra.
Also, I am normally a 5, sometimes a 6, but I have printed off their size chart and I come out as a 4?! Just below a 4 actually - is that normal?

They have a few styles on the slimmer base which I can't wear as I have hooves I think they state on their website which are on the slimmer base and which are on the wider base.

From memory, they now call the slimmer base the "standard" and the original base is called the wider.

Check online at fitflop.com or places like shoetique or achillesheel may have more info.

Re: sizing, are you sure your scape was correct? i.e. you printed it in correct sizing? I've always found Fitflops a true size.

Best go to a shop I think, tbh :)

I have narrow feet and have some fitflops, but you really need to try them on first as there are quite a few styles that are no good for me. Re sizing, I've found them more or less true to size, in some styles generous. HTH!

postmanpatscat · 25/05/2012 13:47

I have three pairs and a fourth on the way (!!), mine are all size 6 although I wear 6.5 in most shoes. They are the toe post ones.

rubbersole does free delivery and returns so you could order a few to try?

They DO have a toe post - it's red Confused

They do some without a toe post altogether - I saw them in John Lewis.

steph124 · 25/05/2012 16:17

These don't have a toe post. It says it's a D/E fit but I'm not sure what that is!

I am a size 5 or 51/2 and i need a 6 in fitflops but i think it depends on the way your feet are configured.

valiumredhead · 25/05/2012 16:56

Those are the ones I saw in JL steph but in brown leather - gorgeous!

I've just bought the walkstar ones in black patent. No toe post. I am size 4 and have narrow feet and they're fine.

pigsinmud · 25/05/2012 21:17

Valium - when i said no toe post, i meant no big toe post. The sling ones have a little pocket for your big toe- not sure how you describe those cross over ones!

Thanks for the advice. I do really like the look of the tan sling ones.

Plus i have found my sandals - only took 3 houes of searching with me getting crosser by the minute Grin

I'm normally a 6/6.5, I have two pairs in size 7. You're supposed to have a gap at the front (apparently!) John Lewis have £10 lots of styles at the moment, I'm very tempted.

KenNEddieKennedy · 25/05/2012 21:20

£10 off

pigsinmud · 25/05/2012 21:20

Sorry valium you're right there is a toe post. I was getting muddled up with the other sandals I like - merrell siena. Oh i probably shouldn't go for them. I wore my birkenstocks this evening and after school pick up and a couple of trips to rainbows and back, my toe is sore where the toe post is.

If you want to look at Fitflops with no toe post there are in fact several syles which are slides, including a variant on the Walkstar. You can see them all on the Fitflop site.
