Self tan that doesn't smell?

Or am I looking for the holy grail?

I've lost count of the different ones I've tried over the years.
Most recent purchase of Garnier Ambre Solaire tinted bronzing gel lied promised "no self tan smell" gave a great colour but still reeks once it's been on a couple of hours.
Its not so much for me it's my DH who can't stand it.
Have any of you discovered a fragrance free brand out there there that does the job?

Doesn't exist in my experience. Sorry. Dove smelled lovely when first on, but a couple of hours later digestive biscuits!
Johnsons (I am tanning as I write) same.
St Trop....you guessed it!
My DH can't stand smell either, I hate the clammy feeling, my daughter just said "you smell of turkey"!!! I thought Christmas dinner, but no, she meant our holiday in Turkey, where I smothered myself in the stuff every night in an effort to look mildly less blue/white with a danger of lobster red sun burn.

That's it as well Drywhite the clammy feeling, I hate that too! Why does it do that?! It is a biscuity smell but not a pleasant one!
I wish someone would invent a pill that could do the job, I also hate being blue

You know what I would like?.......,a sun cream SPF 25 ish with self tan in it. Genius idea for us pasty Brit ladies.

swooosh · 24/05/2012 21:26

I think Garnier or someone has bought out a sun lotion with fake tan in it, there's an after sun too with it!Grin

I'm currently slathered in St Moritz tan, doesn't smell too bad IMO

freerangeeggs · 24/05/2012 21:28

I've started using the Palmer's cocoa butter one. It just smells like cocoa butter. It's one of those gradual ones.

PingPongPunani · 24/05/2012 21:29

They all smell ime. I had a sunscreen from boots that had fake tan in it. Wasn't that good though.

I have always wanted to invent a body lotion that also has a gradual tan and an SPF. Can't be bothered to layer on multiple products!

Ultrasonic · 24/05/2012 21:30

I've actually seen that, but it was in the US, their tanning product selection over there is vast. In fact I can spend a whole day in Walgreens, i can fill a basket in the drugs aisle alone Grin

Dies anyone else notice that they get really bad bo when they use fake tan?! I always apply at night and shower in the morning because I hate the smell of the fake tan, but I also find that the morning after I always have smelly armpits! I don't normally sweat/smell that much. Or us it just me ?! Blush

PingPongPunani · 24/05/2012 21:39

Ok, just me then Grin

Ultrasonic · 24/05/2012 21:47

Maybe I should call myself "PongPongPits" instead.

StrawberrytallCAKE · 24/05/2012 21:51

Yes I get that too, don't worry either we are both smelly monsters or it's quite normal (and I don't smell usually).

StrawberrytallCAKE · 24/05/2012 21:52

Forgot - sorry op, no idea. I love st tropez, don't think the aerosol one smells as much as mousse or lotion come to think of it.

drywhiteplease · 24/05/2012 21:54

Soz ping you just pong!!Grin
I also put it on in the evening, get sweaty and clammy during night (puts DH right off!!!) and shower off in morning.

This one doesn't smell. I've only used it on legs so far, and it doesn't last particularly well, but it definitely doesn't smell and it dries quite quickly too..

Julialyne · 25/05/2012 10:26

Decleor is a nice one as it works on a different way in the skin like henna & the tan lasts for ages & doesn't go patchy

Charliefox · 25/05/2012 10:40

Loathe the smell too and the sticky feeling. And yes, I always feel a bit Bo wiffy too. The Loreal self tanning dry mist is the one I go back to over and over. Is the least smelly and clammy - the dry mist really is dry.

Mix St Moritz with Palmer's Cocoa Butter lotion.
