Here comes the sun do, do, do, here comes the sun......and I'm so illuminous white it's just not funny.

So which fake tan is the best you have used? I've tried those moisturiser ones, like Dove, and all they do is stain my clothes.

DH is away, so it also worries me how I can reach my whole body. Don't fancy askng DC to help with my back!

Any thoughts from the gorgeously bronzed appreciated.

Oh and I have fair skin although I do go brown with perseverance Smile

OK, tanning mitt first of all - velv-o-tan one or similar - and Lancome Flash Bronze spray. Spray it and then smooth all over your body with the mitt. Don't use too much as it's better to apply a thin layer that dries quickly and do it every night for 3 nights for an even, nice result.

Years ago I tried Boots no 7 (NOT no.17!!!) spray self tan but don't know if they still make it as this was donkeys' years ago. It's vg if they still do it and it's the same stuff.

Or get a spray tan...? Not St Tropez though, it goes really patchy. Fantasy Tan.

L'Oreal Sublime Bronze clear gel - it's foolproof Smile

I despise the gradual tanners. They stink worse than normal fake tan and give you a faint orange hue, sort of slightly jaundiced looking.

If you can afford it, get a St Tropez light spray tan. Otherwise, I reccommend Clinique Self Sun lotion (not mousse). You can get light, medium or dark, it dries quickly and gives a lovely sunkissed look.

Have you tried the garnier one?

KenNEddieKennedy · 22/05/2012 21:58

L'oreal express spray tan is ace.

Thanks everyone.

I've tried garnier everything else but not their tanning products. Is it good?

I did a St Tropez before a wedding last year and whilst it was good, it was expensive and was gone in 3 days!

I'll go to Boots tomorrow and find the tanning mit first and take the list of products recommended here.

Ta very much. Really need to get my cropped trousers on without the blue tinge to my legs!

I don't know if you can still get it but Eco-Tan is good. It goes on clear, it doesn't smell. The only problem I found was if the spray was a bit iffy I was left with a freckled effect.
(I used to moisyurise, then spray, wait a few seconds ,then blend it in. The idea is you spray and let it dry, no blending (but this lead to the freckle look.I've got enough natural freckles)

I bought the scrub, tan-accelerator and wash on Ebay, so I'm pretty sure the self tan is still available.
I saw it in John Lewis a couple of years back too.
