Charity shops really are your best bet. If you can get to any good ones, posh places best, natch.

RandomMess · 20/05/2012 20:22

If you live near me I could have loaned you stuff...

Any friends you can borrow some stuff off?

LadyofWinterfell · 20/05/2012 20:24

Matalan mens suits are very good quality, and i imagine their womens ones would be too. Maybe have a look there? I got DH a suit for less than £50. No point buying a more expensive one for him, he wears it so rarely!

ifancyashandy · 20/05/2012 20:27

What's your definition of cheap? You.could get a suit in Zara for just under £100 I reckon.

LettuceLaughton · 20/05/2012 20:36

Oh yeah, good point! I wouldn't count 100 quid as cheap.

Also Banana Republic?

strawberryblondebint · 20/05/2012 20:46

My definition of cheap is under fifty!! Charidee shops a good idea. I may venture to the posh suburbs and see if I can dig anything up.
Thanks for offering to loan me random. I'm in scotchland though. There is a grey herrinbone dress and jacket on tesco direct. What do you think?

Would have said Ebay (it's brilliant for suits: people buy them for interviews, never wear them again and then sell them on Ebay) but you haven't got time for that. Charity shops, definitely, or TK Maxx perhaps?

I'd borrow from a friend if charity shops don't come up trumps.

TheCinnamonGiraffe · 20/05/2012 20:48

A (rather fashionable and always very nicely turned out) friend of mine told me that she gets her suits from primark for about £25...worth a look imo.
