need closed toe, medium heel NON-CLOG mules, can find nowhere! Help!

Hi
I wonder if anyone on here can help me, after I have had an exhaustive unsuccessful search of both RL shops and internet. Two years ago I bought some shoes in John Lewis (they were John Lewis's own brand), one brown, one black, and wore them every day for work for that summer and the next. They are EXACTLY what I want and need in summer. Sadly they are now getting rather tatty and as summer (hopefully, eventually) is coming, I wanted to replace them with a couple of new pairs. But nowhere can I find anything even remotely similar. Can anyone help to point me to any?

Basically they are leather, closed toe mid-heeled mules (ie slip-on, open at the back, and no heel or ankle strap or anything), with a smart pointy toe, not a rounded clog type look. It seems that such a shoe no longer exists in the world (I would be prepared to import if needed, but cannot find them ANYWHERE!)

Please help!

Yes, well not outrageously pointy, but not all round and cloggy looking

I flat, pointed, closed toe mule, I think.

I've not seen any about either. Well, apart from wedding shoes.

theDudesmummy · 18/05/2012 13:07

Not flat. no. I need heels.

Not bad but both too high! I need a heel but more a mid-size rather than a really high heel

Oh I am sure that they are! But is absolutely of no concern to me, I'm pretty dated myself and could not care less about fashion etc. What I need in my work is something that looks smart enough without drawing any attention to itself at all, gives me a little height, that I can slip on like a sandal but which which allows me not to have to bother what my toenails look like!

I'm a (very) non-young, very busy mother of a toddler with a job where I have to look smart and professional but unobtrusive, and I am short (and lazy about toes!).

Are you looking for something like this? Too informal?

compare.ebay.co.uk/like/280877458829?var=lv&ltyp=AllFixedPriceItemTypes&var=sbar&cbt=y

theDudesmummy · 18/05/2012 13:56

Can't do the toes!!! Got to be closed!! (I am just too lazy busy)

theDudesmummy · 18/05/2012 13:58

Oh dear I am horribly fussy, but the second one you suggested is too low (and not smart enough).

This is the problem when you have had some shoes which were just perfect and they then get worn out!! Nothing will suit me like they did!!

I'm doing a google shopping search, and there are quite a few styles like the one you are looking for on ebay.

MrsLettuce · 18/05/2012 14:10

Maybe? Most probably a bit dressy.

mamijacacalys · 18/05/2012 14:21

Mrs L - those are seriously amazing!
Apologies for slight hijack.

theDudesmummy · 19/05/2012 13:58

Thanks all! Mamija I have in fact recently ordered a pair of the exact floral clogs you suggested! (but for a different purpose, for home, could not wear them to work). The Pikolinos are just not smart and professional enough for my work.

UML those second-hand slip ons are pretty close to what I want (but those ones are not the right size), I will try searching with the term "slip ons" instead of "mules" and see if I get some results!

Mrs L those are fantastic shoes and I wish I needed them, but they are too eveningy for what I need (and I am sadly never likely to be going anywhere where I would need such fab evening shoes!)
