Oh hello you lovely thing

I know its £££ but it looks gorgeous. Has anyone seen in the flesh as yet?

It's really reminiscent of mulberry of old. I have mulberry's from prechildren and they are such a similar shape. Colour is different though(v pale pink is the first one I have unearthed) but I am now enjoying digging out 10 year old handbags and seeing what they work with now. They were tucked away for years as they didn't fit into life as they are hand only bags. Love the petrol del ray version though!! Oh dear....

teejwood yep that's what the woman in Selfridges said (Manchester), both the petrol and the purple coming out in June.

Do any of you mulberry fans have an Alexa (pref oversized?) - am thinking of a nice return-to-work-from-maternity-leave treat!

PropertyNightmare · 22/05/2012 21:06

Yes, I have two oversized alexas, oak and black. They are absolutely fab bags but IMO they are not designed to be rammed to the brim. The strap will cut your shoulder and will pull too hard on the bag sides. So if you need to carry a lot or a laptop then this would not be the best choice (a bayswater is stronger and sturdier). However, the alexa looks great worn casually or for work so there is great potential to get a lot of use from it if it suits the amount you usually carry with you.

Have I told you that I have the oversized Mulberry Tillie? (Only about 10 times I'm sure!) Like this www.clothingapparel.co.uk/accessories/oversized-tillie-deer-brown-soft-matte-messenger-bag

It is lovely and I also love the subtle branding

PropertyNightmare · 22/05/2012 21:52

Nice choice, I love the Tillie. The leather is beautiful and feels really luxurious. If you get any light sctatches on it they buff out really easily too.

Which wear best, black or brown? Considering a purchase and my head feels fit to explode when I try to decide which colour. Scared of scratches on hardware too....

PropertyNightmare · 22/05/2012 22:34

I would say that black is the safest colour as no question of the leather picking up and showing colour transfer from denim etc. Also it's far less likely to show any dirt, marks, stains or spills. However, I would choose oak over black simply because it is the classic colourway you associate with Mulberry. Also oak goes with everything (even black clothes) whereas a black bag does not always look right ( think summer clothes, florals etc).
