My sister is going to some big discount Clinique event and has asked if I want her to get me anything. I've never used their products before because I can't really afford them.

What would you recommend using?

I know nothing of note about their skincare although several friends swear by it. A colleague was wearing one of their perfumes the other day- Happy heart? and got lots of compliments.

Repairwear Laser focus serum.Actually does make you look less crinkley round the eyes.Expensive but worth it...

I really like the clarifying lotion, but what will suit you really depends on what your skin is like. You could cheekily go to a counter and have a skin consultation then decide what you like?

I have very oily skin and I like the anti-blemish face soap (the liquid soap in a bottle with a pump, although the soap bar in a box is good it's just not as convenient) and clarifying lotion and also Exfoliating Scrub (not to be confused with 7 day scrub, which is pretty crap IMO - the real deal stuff) and Total Turnaround.

But either go to a counter or do the quiz online to find out what will suit you.

The Buttershine lipsticks are really nice too.

I love the AromaticsElixir perfume. It is very strong - and distinctive though. So yo may want to test it first. I also have Clinique Happy Heart - that is lovely- v fresh and summery.

I used touse the skin care. Out of the lot I would say that the moisturiser was the best - the Dramatically Different Moisturising Lotion. Oh, and the concealer I stil buy is this one : concealer It covers well, and a tube lasts me ages - a few years, but that is probably a crime in beauty shelf life....

I use their almost lipstick in black honey. It looks really dark in the tube but on it just looks like my lips but better. So, no good at all for a night out but ideal for some occasions, I like it for work.

Jennyrosity · 18/05/2012 20:29

Ooh, yes, black honey almost lipstick is awesome. I am also a big fan of the Youth Surge moisturiser, and the City Block sun block, which as well as having SPF 25 does seem to stop your make up sliding off your face on hot days, and keeps it from getting sweaty and shiny.

lololizzy · 18/05/2012 20:36

i CANNOT live without lash power mascara as have the wateriest eyes ever. I love Happy perfume. Like the lip balms. But I don't like anything else! Not saying it's not good, just didnt work for me. I still give them *** just for the lash power though

lololizzy · 18/05/2012 20:36

that shouldve been five star !***

lololizzy · 18/05/2012 20:36

how weird. I've tried twice and it won't let me put in five stars!

FourYolksAche · 18/05/2012 20:42

City Block. I wear it every day whether or not I'm wearing makeup and it's fab. Especially if you have a penchant for sizzling your face off.
