Just got a facial

and the therapist never told me she was going to do this but proceeded to remove my blackheads. took about 15 mins, i nearly fainted with the pain (and i have a high pain tolerance) it felt like a needle being pressed into the bone of my nose! i felt like she was cutting the skin but obviously didn't. i told her it was too sore and she just said don't worry itl be worth it, nearly finished.

is this normal?! i just wanted a relaxing facial. not too worried about the blackheads (my face looks so clean now, but as im prone to them they will just come back anyway)

also any tips for keeping them clean for awhile? i exfoliate a couple of times a week and use oil on my face as a moisteriser. she says its cos im breastfeeding.

my face still aches!

No tips but ouch poor you. Plenty of sympathy to you

hahaha, i've had this before she most likely used a blackhead extractor, they flipping hurt.

If you suffer with blackheads i swear by hydradermie facials, they squeeze your spots during this facial too, but she uses her fingers so it hurts a bit less and you have a lovely relaxing face and neck massage afterwards.

Surely squeezing spots = bad?

I'm reading with interest as considering booking my first ever facial soon but I want it to be relaxing rather than painful!

those hydradermie ones sound far better. it would have been relaxing doodie but even when she did the relaxing bit afterwords i couldn't enjoy it as i was all tensed up, headache and face aching! get yourself booked in for something though, you will love it - just make sure you make it clear its for relaxation only!
