Black tie do

ChablisLover · 16/05/2012 08:42

So have now been invited to black tie do with DH's work at posh hotel and private dining place.

It will be small and intimate and his bosses will be there.

So am looking for a cocktail dress type thing. Conservative but still dressy. I have long formal dresses but am looking for something less formal but still dressy enough

I am mid -30's (but on the wrong side of 30) size 10-12, with boobs and hips. The legs aren't bad.

I suit something more fitted rather than flowing. I need sleeves (I hate the bingo wings) and if showing off legs knee length or above but not micro.

Was going to check out TK maxx and a nearly new shop close by at the weekend.

Any ideas or suggestions? Budget is about £100 max. Don't need shoes or bags though.

This dress from Coast looks nice and has good reviews. But they don't have your size in stock online!

LBD too obvious a choice?

Oh I like the lbd mrs lettuce

Even better I have HofF vouchers too! Might have to see if it's in our local one.

Love the lace dress too! Had thought of something similar. Had seen one on next online but that one is much nicer.

this one here - looks a bit less worky here i think. has a lovely cut to it,

I love Coast dresses but you need to visit House of Fraser/Debenhams to try them on.

lumbago · 16/05/2012 19:53

Why?

MadAboutHotChoc · 16/05/2012 19:56

Cos the sizing around the bust is not generous - I am a 8/10 but have to wear 12 for certain styles and in other styles its 10.

These still make you look fantastic though.

ChablisLover · 16/05/2012 19:59

I have something very similar to the Olivia both sleeved and without.

I think I am looking for something more structured.

Really ? Am 14 bust. Wear a 12

MadAboutHotChoc · 16/05/2012 21:27

Weird...even more reason to try their dresses on before buying!

lumbago · 17/05/2012 07:47
