What is a good emergency cheap foundation?

I've left my best Chanel at a friends it wasn't a one night stand I'm now stuck in Superdrug and I need to buy one. I really resent paying £8 for a foundation that i might only use once so, if I can get a decent one I might buy it again. The brands I can see are Maybelline, Rimmel, Max Factor, Bourjois and Collection. Can anyone recommend anything? I have dry skin.

I use Rimmel's Wake Me Up foundation and I love it, also have dry skin. Have also heard good things about Bourjois Healthy Mix for dry skin, although it doesn't have an SPF
Good luck Grin

Have heard great things about the Bourjois Healthy Mix serum and also their 10 hours sleep one.
I recently bought a Rimmel one (can check the name in a minute) and wasn't that impressed, have also got dry skin and I don't find it hydrating enough, will probably try the Bourjois ones instead.

Having said that I did buy a Nivea tinted moisturiser for a couple of quid and am very impressed with that for everyday use (don't wear make up to work).

HTH

or that BB cream tinted moisturiser.

Get yourself to Boots if you can. "My Face" foundation is excellent, about £12.

Maybelline Dream matte mousse. I bought it as a cheap back up when I lost my make up bag and was waiting for my insurance claim to come through.
Goes on very smoothly and evenly- bargain!

BarryManilowsWardrobe · 14/05/2012 16:50

I second Dream Matte Mouse. I have dry skin but it goes on really nicely after a good moisturise.

I am using the health mix and it;'s better than the Dior I am also using on reflection.

MooMinCow · 14/05/2012 17:53

Aren't Bourjois and Chanel cosmetics made/owned by the same company? Bourgois may be better then if your normal foundation is Chanel OP?

cocolepew · 14/05/2012 17:55

Revlon Photo Finish is excellent, didn't like the Bourgois serum one myself. Max Factor foundations are good too, liquid minerals I think is the one I use.

PommePoire · 14/05/2012 18:04

Bourjois Healthy Mix, definitely. I was expecting to stock up on my beloved Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser at Gatwick Airport recently, but hadn't done my research - there isn't and never has been a Laura Mercier counter at Gatwick airport, just so you know. Not wanting to buy a premium brand for £££ without knowing what I was doing, I dashed into Boots and panic bought the Bourjois. It's really not bad at all, good even coverage, lasts all day and feels and looks really sheer and natural.

BrightnessFalls · 14/05/2012 19:59

I love my Chanel and it does last for a year (I dont wear it every day) its true, I have to start making some cutbacks. I used to use Mac tinted moisturiser at this time of year but, it seems to be really runny these days. Unless I need more coverage on the old face Blush

I bought a Bourjois one in a similar emergency. Didn't like it at all.

AuntLucyInPeru · 14/05/2012 20:03

I use Chanel as my 'main' one - recently lost my swim make-up bag so needed to replace everything, and went with the l'oreal one that won the in-style 'inexpensive foundation' award this year. It's been brilliant.

BrightnessFalls · 14/05/2012 20:05

Foundation, its the biggest expense isnt it? And, its weird, even when I was a Saturday girl in BHS, I always bought expensive foundation Estee Lauder, it was the 80's I think it comes from my mother.
