Staff in Zara

I have bought a linen jacket there today.
The usual miserable service, lack of product knowledge, filthy fitting rooms.

Then my linen jacket was stuffed n the smallest bag you have ever seen.
I had to ask for a bigger bag, and refolded it in front of him. No tissue paper.
No eye contact.

Just shite service.
Yet of course the queue was about 10 deep. Just makes me so cross.

I usually find them politest, most helpful, staff I meet all day. If you're staring into the distance while one has whisked off to get something out of stock, another comes up to ask if they can help you.

Maybe not all Zara staff are the same. Shock

I'm guessing the store has a good manager who sets the tone.

ashesgirl · 14/05/2012 09:41

God you are so right, I've always thought they were really rude in Zara.

And they do put the handsome boys on the tills.

lurkingaround · 14/05/2012 10:08

I haven't really found them rude, but they are very disinterested.

Shame really. I love their stuff, except for their trousers.Shock Sized for children if you ask me. Certainly not made for pears.

Anyone find the quality has gone downhill, and clothes don't wash so well?

Charliefox · 14/05/2012 14:55

In these difficult times, the managers (who invariably will find out about these sort of threads) should react appropriately. I know I would. The baddies should be named and shamed but so should the goodies too. So, i had a good experience at the Manchester Trafford Centre. On a packed weekend afternoon, the guy behind the till made a potentially difficult exchange easy and pleasant for me. So well done him!

dexter73 · 14/05/2012 14:59

serialkipper - I think Zara are quite renowned for their rude staff/bad customer service.

PessimisticMissPiggy · 14/05/2012 15:09

It's no different in Spain.

Perhaps someone could give this thread the mothercare treatment and let them know what to do to keep our custom in the future.

lumbago · 14/05/2012 15:34

yes I cant complain
have always found me stuff
agree sizing is TOTALLy erratic

am an XL in blazers and a M in t shirts

kjust ordered those beautastic black basic sandals though

EldonAve · 14/05/2012 16:07

link to sandals pls?

RubyFakeNails · 14/05/2012 16:17

I haven't usually find the staff rude but quite often unhelpful and as all my local stores are London ones, they are usually rushed off their feet.

So solution is shop online. They seem to have much more size range, plus can see what sizes an item comes in. I just measured myself to check the sizing although was pretty familiar with my sizes in there. All comes in lovely packaging, lots of tissue.

Online customer services are helpful and online has a wider range. I now refuse to go in the stores.

Mirrorball · 14/05/2012 16:57

Chester staff are lovely!! Online stuff comes all boxed in tissue as ruby says, and can return in store no probs. Just wish that I was taller and could wear their trousers.

lumbago · 14/05/2012 18:31

Get ready to plapitate.
This but in black.
(btw online orders far far too slow )

FIFIBEBE · 14/05/2012 18:35

Was buying a fab bag today in Zara Westfield. 3 people behind the till speaking to each other and not engaging at all with the customers.

GeorginaWorsley · 14/05/2012 18:52

Online orders too slow ,I agree.
Plus whilst everyone seems to rave on here and in the glossies about Zara,I have to say I am not overly impressed.

southeastastra · 14/05/2012 18:55

i've always found them quite helpful! i do feel sorry for them having to constantly re-fold up clothes!

KatieScarlett2833 · 14/05/2012 18:58

Visited Zara in Lisbon, Mainland Spain and Canaries,

Without fail the staff looked like they had something nasty under their nose.

buggyRunner · 14/05/2012 19:06

Another good vote for Trafford centre- I remember nice smiles and lack of disgust as I wrestled my toddler out of the lift lol! Trafford centre mango are brilliant let me bfeed dd2 for about 30mins on their settee after my mate had finished in changing room. Chatted nicely and welcomingmc

MrsCampbellBlack · 14/05/2012 19:22

What's the zara returns policy problem? Am sure I've returned stuff before and been refunded within 14 days . . .

noddyholder · 14/05/2012 19:25

zara heels are so uncomfortable lumbago i have a few pairs lurking upstairs that BURN the ball of your foot but look amazing

bigkidsdidit · 14/05/2012 19:27

I agree. I just stopped going, the clothes aren't so fabulous I want to put up with being treated like crap by sales assistants

I believe in taking my custom elsewhere of they're shite

lumbago · 14/05/2012 19:29

Ouch

mrsebojones · 14/05/2012 20:06

Had the misfortune to find myself in the Knightsbridge store th oter Saturday. Didn't help that I was knee deep in tourists with no sense of queueing...
I was doing an online return... sales assistant curt as ever... but refund was promptly processed and back in my account.

anniewoo · 14/05/2012 21:25

Dundrum zara really good and so helpful

trixymalixy · 14/05/2012 21:26

I placed an online order, went to pick it up at lunchtime. The email specifically stated to ask any member of staff to get it, and that there was no need to queue. I asked the first member of staff I saw and she was really rude and told me to queue.

There was a massive queue, which I would have stood in no problem had it not specifically stated in the email that I didn't have to queue and by this time the rudeness of the staff had really got my back up. Asked to speak to the manager and funnily enough she decided to go get my parcel.

Mrsrobertduvall · 14/05/2012 22:00

Well they are miserable fuckers in Kingston.

OP posts:
lumbago · 14/05/2012 22:07

They're Spanish.
They're worried Santander bank is going down and the Euro etc.
