how do they fit and which ones come recommended. I have been holding off buying jeans becaus I am loosing weight but my current jeans have given up so I thought I would try these since so many people seem to be fond. I am a 16 in most shops and short ( 5'5") so really would like a 30/31" leg length. Any recommendations?

Oh bump please.... I will only have 40 toddler free minutes tomorrow morning to do my jean shopping. I need to do a strategic hit.

If you are even slightly hippy I'd say don't do it. They sit really, really low on the hip from what I've experienced. Gave me terrible muffin top :(

pocketandsweet · 13/05/2012 17:34

Ok.... I am hippy/ mum tummy.... So cheap flattering slim leg jeans that come in short legs.... Anyone ? Dont say GAP though because I have already checked and they don't do my size with a 30" leg. I am so fed up of too long legs.

Can you buy a longer leg and get them taken up?

mrscumberbatch · 13/05/2012 17:35

Their skinnies tend to be ok but dont make the mistake I made and buy more than one pair of jeans at a time (even if they are supposedly the same fit.)

I had the same jeans in black and blue and the black were luffly. The blue were the most baggy arsed hideous things I've ever tried on.

Try on in shop if you have a chance

pocketandsweet · 13/05/2012 17:42

I could take them up ( I even have the skills myself.... It's just the time). I just would love to be able to not have the bother and then wear them lots until my running programme results start to kick in and I can invest in smaller ones.

I wish I had sewing skills! I'm atrocious! Jean buying is a nightmare!

MorrisZapp · 13/05/2012 17:55

I got a pair of DP skinnies in a charity shop for three quid. They are ace! They say regular length, but I'm short and they fit fine, even with flat shoes.

Yes, there's muffinage. But all jeans are like that now. There's no alternative, unless you want m&s classic mom jeans.

pocketandsweet · 13/05/2012 20:40

thanks everyone... Just bumping again in case anyone else has anymore recommendations for my 40 minute jean trying on/hopefully buying frenzy.

Well I am generally a 14 bottom and jut bought some jegging things that fit perfectly but the same size boot cut jeans wouldn't even go over my thighs

bronze · 13/05/2012 20:42

Dorothy Perkins that is

NewAndHopefullyImproved · 13/05/2012 20:43

I've bought a few pairs from there recently, I'll go and get the links and tell you what I think of them, back in a minute.

pocketandsweet · 13/05/2012 20:48

Thanks. BTW new and improved well done on your impressive self makeover! Very inspiring!

I bought these and took them back. They were very small fitting for the size and very tight on my legs.

I have two pairs of these and I love them. They go high enough up that my wobbly tummy is contained. I bought size 10 and they were great but they have stretched and I've lost a few lbs and I have gone back for the size 8, you'd need to get the smallest size you can get into because they do stretch quite bit. They are really comfortable though, nice and soft and don't seem to have faded in the wash at all. Think the dark colour is very flattering too.

I've been wearing these as my day to day jeans and I think for the price they are excellent. They are a lower rise though so have to be careful about which top I wear with them to avoid wobbly tummy issues. They are not as tight fitting to the ankle as the indigo ones are.

Blush Thanks Blush

Its still very much a work in progress!

pocketandsweet · 13/05/2012 20:59

Thanks that is very helpful. They have got 25% off now so maybe I will try both of the latter two. Hopefully in a few months I will be looking for smaller sizes too. Smile

I got some DP jeans last summer and they are nice fit but have worn really quite badly I'd say I wouldn't get them again.

Try this website as it tells you which shop is most likely to fit your measurements so might save time! sizes.darkgreener.com/

pocketandsweet · 14/05/2012 08:18

thanks girlgonemild How fabulous is that link. Will test it out!

pocketandsweet - is there a code for the 25% off?

NewAndHopefullyImproved · 14/05/2012 11:34

I think the code is DPVIPD but I'm out so can't double check it.

pocketandsweet · 14/05/2012 12:06

Yes that is the code... Works until 20th of may- which is good because my shopping trip has been postponed by a poorly toddler.
