Caring for Boden messenger bag (brown)

This was a Mother's Day pressie for me, and although it's styled leather, it looks nubuck. Should I nubuck spray it before using? No links, sorry.

While I'm waitiing for the response, I'll snuggle down and watch the the other half of my gift: DVD of Sherlock" series 2. Yum yum.

I have it and was just intending to spray it with a protective spray suitable for both nubuck and leather.
