Small boobs...

AIBU to think that I could find a bra that is uplifting, but not wodged full of foam, which will be flattering on those of us who are not overendowed on the boobicular area?
At the moment it either looks like I'm completely flat chested, or have two bean bags shoved down there.

I am struggling to find a bra that's pretty and supportive. Any recommendations?

Ok, so, I've got 32.5 under and about 35 over. What shall I go for? 32C?!

SorrelForbes · 02/11/2012 09:18

Good luck RS1.

Becksybob Yes try a 32C and maybe a 32D!

Beksybob · 02/11/2012 09:22

If that works I will eat my hat Smile. Gonna try though! Thanks.

ICBINEG · 02/11/2012 09:23

right I have measurements if anyone has answers.....

35.5 inch under boob
43.5 inch over boob wearing current best fitting bra
48.5 inches over boob if I lean forward and measure with boobs hanging at 90 degrees

SorrelForbes · 02/11/2012 09:29

Ok, I'd be tempted to go with the second across bust measurement as it sounds like your bra is really compressing you and that your boobs aren't really in the cups properly.

Try a 36HH, 36J, 36J. Maybe even a 34HH.

However, it may be that your first measurement is better. So you may want to try a 36FF too.

StatisticallyChallenged · 02/11/2012 09:31

I am an h cup so works for bigger sizes too. I would suggest starting at a 36 back but also try a 34.

How good is your current bra? I have a suspicion that with that sort of discrepancy it may be that your bra is seriously flattening your shape. On your in bra measurement, a 36ff would be a good start point. On your non bra, it's more like a hh. I think you will need to try a range of cups to get it right.

Xposted with sorrel!

ICBINEG · 02/11/2012 09:52

thanks for the advice....I warned you the sag was impressive didn't I?

that sounds like internet ordering for me then...im pretty sure I never saw even FF let alone HH in the shops...

My currents bras are still maternity efforts and range from 42 DD to 38 G but I have lost nearly 2 stone in the last few months and BF is winding down so I am expecting shrinkage in both measurements.

I don't know if it is worth getting a new bra now though? I am planning to keep up the dieting and of course boobs may continue to change as BF slows down.

hmm well a new bra might cheer me up, so maybe Ill just go for it!

HazleNutt · 02/11/2012 09:54

Try www.brastop.com for better prices, the 42 will not offer you any support and will make the sagging only worse.

ICBINEG · 02/11/2012 09:59

Yep, just been checking out brastop and can I just say OMFG. There are actual models with actual body fat! This is amazing. I can actually sort of see which bras are going to work for someone my shape.

Has there been some sort of revolution while I wasn't looking.

seriously this is AWESOME.

SorrelForbes · 02/11/2012 10:03

ICBINEG Grin wonderful isn't it! Look at Ewa Michalak too.

SorrelForbes · 02/11/2012 10:04

Ah yes, SC, but you explain it so much better!

TruthSweet · 02/11/2012 10:07

I was wearing a 36D-38DD depending on brand (I even had some 40Es) and I've done the Sorrel method recently and I bought a 34H bra from Royce. The cups fit fine but the back is fine on the smallest/tightest hooks so I guess I could go down to a 32HH?

StatisticallyChallenged · 02/11/2012 10:07

Icbineg, do you have a bravissimo, john Lewis or even debenhams near you? The fitting service in brav is awesome, the other two are a bit more hit and miss but they will all stock those sort of sizes. Might be easier to narrow down the size then shop online for a better range and for bargains!

ICBINEG · 02/11/2012 10:11

sadly not any of those places...we have an M and S and then supermarkets...and I am getting the distinct impression from this thread that neither of those are the way to go Grin

StatisticallyChallenged · 02/11/2012 10:12

Truthsweet if it fits on the tightest then go down a back. However, I would suggest trying both an hh and a j. Ime sometimes the down a back up a cup ratio is a bit off and it's sometimes more like two cups.

ArtVandelay · 02/11/2012 10:32

Hi! If I'm a 29 around and 33 over the boobs then what size is that - 28 or 30 and which cup? Thanks in advance x

StatisticallyChallenged · 02/11/2012 10:38

Best guess 28dd but also try 28d, 30c and 30d.

LauraPalmerPlusOne · 02/11/2012 11:22

Oh Sorrel et al., do me, do me!

I've got the tiniest (but perkinest!) little boobs you'll ever see. And even though I only wear a size 10, I've got a broad back. Anything smaller than a 34 makes me almost weep with pain and since I can never fill out the cups of a 34 bra, I tend to wear stretchy tank bras. Which is fine for the most part, but I would really love to have a few nice proper bras!

Side note - I can fill an A cup but the placement and shape of them always look ridiculous and abnormal - and absolutely nothing like my own boobs!

So, according to your techniques, I'm measuring 33.5" (tight) under bust and 39" (loose) on bust.

I'm keen to go shopping today - what size should I try?

HazleNutt · 02/11/2012 11:28

34 then sounds about right, but tiny? Based on those measurements I would recommend you try a 34DD or 34E

StatisticallyChallenged · 02/11/2012 11:33

Yup, you are a lot bigger than an a, 34dd ish. Read up thread about scooping- I suspect the back is hurting because the cup is fartoo small and a lot of tissue which should be in the cup is actually using the space from the back.

HazleNutt · 02/11/2012 11:34

But I am scratching my head here a bit, as you rarely see a size 10 that actually measures 34 and even if you're in a wrong bra, a 34DD boobs would not be described as small. Hm.

SorrelForbes · 02/11/2012 11:40

Yep, I suspect a 30 or 32 back in an E or an F might be the size for you! Can you measure under bust again tight without a brav

SorrelForbes · 02/11/2012 12:06

That's just going on the size 10 by the way Grin
