I bought my now 19 year old daughter a necklace for her 16th and she still wears it, she loves it, people often comment on it, the whole packaging in the lovely green with the ribbbon makes it very speical. I ordered mine on the official Tiffany website but that site looks fab and seem to be genuine Tiffany at discount prices. I am sure she will love and treasure it x

No way is that site legit. There's spelling mistakes and everything!
Lovely idea but get it from the real site. Also look at Pandora etc.

Tiffany will tell you that any discount websites are not genuine. My DP bought a necklace off one of these websites and it was so obviously fake (I have enough other genuine Tiffany (bought in the shop in London!) to compare against) I would say, if it looks too good to be true, it probably is!

I think it's a lovely lovely idea but if you're going to do it, only buy genuine. :)
There's a Tiffany counter in Selfridges in Manchester if you're near there!

or buy off the actual website - always had very good service off them!

crazyaccountant · 10/05/2012 15:14

The only place you can buy genuine Tiffany online is from Tiffany themselves so any other websites are in no way official stockists and will be selling fakes (which will more than likely turn your arm green!)

Only other option is visiting Tiffany in Selfridges Manchester or Harrods/Tiffany flagship in London.
What is your budget?

This place does good stuff I have several pieces from them.

Bugger Tiffany why pay for a name rather then a quality product?

Quenelle · 10/05/2012 16:35

My mum has name necklaces made for my nieces on their 18th birthdays. Like the one Carrie had in Sex and the City.

Although they might be naff now for all I know.

What about just an initial? I bought a Links of London one for my goddaughter's christening.

mrscumberbatch · 10/05/2012 17:08

Quality product over name.... tiffany isn't particularly 'trendy' at the moment and you'll get better value buying a non-branded bracelet/necklace etc rather than a branded one.

There's nothing that Tiffany sells that isn't done cheaper/better elsewhere

mrssamcam · 10/05/2012 17:18

I bought my DD a Tiffancy necklace when she graduated. It was far too much for what it is- 3 silver hearts on a silver chain- her choice. She wears it every day though now.

I think she just enjoyed the whole experience fo going to the Bond Street store and choosing and seeing it wrapped. If we had not been near enough to go to the store then I don't think the actual necklace was worth the money and would have bought something elsewhere- Dower and Hall, or Claudia Bradby for example.

i have tiffany bangles.

they are my favourite piece of jewellery, havent really bent or tarnished during years of constant use.

i havent seen anything better.

AmberNectarine · 10/05/2012 19:01

I got a Tiffany necklace when I turned 16 (the ubiquitous heart one that was everywhere 10 years ago) and one 10 years later when I turned 26 from my DH (a key this time) - I think they are cute and yes, you are paying for a name but they are well made, pretty timeless and there is that bit of cachet which comes with the blue box.

Definitely a fake site though - as others have said, deal only with Tiffany themselves.

TalHotBlond · 10/05/2012 19:47

A typical eighteen year old girl would love a Tiffany something! Great idea!

But that site is obviously dodgy, go through the official site to be on the safe side.
