Hi

dd is 15 and wants me to get her a bikin wax booked in at a salon - I think she's not old enough ? do you have to be 16/18 ???

She's very dark and is concious when changing for PE and swimming etc.

thanks in advance

theres no minimum age, no. The salon that i go to (not for bikini waxes!!!) regularly get the local high schools coming in for them. I dont think their mums book them in though!!!!! They organise their own appointments!!!!!

high school girls, not high schools

I would let my dd (15) have a bikini wax if she wanted. I have to have a tidy up if I am going swimming as it is quite noticeable if you have stray bush peeking out from your costume (and a bit embarassing). Btw I am talking about a tidy up not a full brazilian for a 15 year old!

You can get swimming bottoms that are like little shorts that give a lot more coverage better to wear those than rip all your hair out.

My dd has been going since she was 13. She is extraordinarily hirsute, I mean back, stomach, chest, the lot, poor thing.

I started getting waxed at around that age, be careful, it started a bit of a beauty salon addiction - I used to be a very regular adding more treatments every week Grin

porcamiseria · 10/05/2012 15:43

you can always use IMMAC, as a maybe more age appropriate solution?

monkeymoma · 10/05/2012 15:44

why is it more age appropriate

plus I got horrible burns which scarred for ages from immac, a proper waxing salon is better IMO

SquishyCinnamonSwirls · 10/05/2012 15:46

Book her an appointment at a decent salon and go along with her (if she wants). 15 is old enough to know how to handle her body hair and better a proper wax than some poor effort with a razor or cream.

Dawndonna · 10/05/2012 19:49

Dd has psoriasis. Waxing is the only option available to her.

Hi

Thanks all, I don't have a problem at all with her going but I was really unsure if she was old enough iykwim.

Would much rather she had it done professionally that doing a home kit and doing herself some damage !

Thanks again.
