I am a maid of honour. Soon. And I get to choose my own outfit Shock And all I can think is oh fuck it might have been better to tell me what I am wearing Wink

Anyway, I have seen a few things but keep being told I need something smarter/more glam/more eveningy blah blah (dh/dm/dsis!)

No colour restrictions, Total outfit (bag/shoes/dress/hat or whatever) £300, but flexible Wink providing it is classic and would make me feel great and I can wear for years as an investment piece.

Restriction:
16/14
Large boobies
Fat Tummy Sad
At least the top of my arms need to be covered
Below the knee
Don't do high necklines as have a short neck

Positives:
Nice bum (so dh says but he might be biased!)
Big Boobs
Nice enough legs providing below the knee
Happy to wear heels Grin

So make me feel thin, glamorous and lovely I dare ya.

Lol, only just spotted you. Pattern allowed?

MrsLettuce · 10/05/2012 19:59

Oh yeah, and, will you wear spanx?

JennyPiccolo · 10/05/2012 20:00

what colour is the bride wearing?

MadameChinLegs · 10/05/2012 20:05

I'm going to link the same dress I post on every board because I LOVE it.

here it is

How formal are we thinking? SHould it be "bridesmaidy"? Or fancy wedding guest type?

What is the venue of the wedding as that can sometimes help

JennyPiccolo · 10/05/2012 20:16

i love that dress.

MrsLettuce · 10/05/2012 20:16

teal

any of the 3 colours

plum - probably too much sleeve and collar

red

MadameChinLegs - Me too but there was a thread recently about (or wherein) someone had been to a wedding wearing one and almost all the other women there were wearing similar. Bet it's your fault Grin

Pinkflipflop · 10/05/2012 20:18

What age range do you reckon that phase eight dress is?

MrsLettuce · 10/05/2012 20:20

Well Pink, that's the problem I think, I'd say 25 - 50ish.

MrsLettuce · 10/05/2012 20:21

'problem' being it's too good for it's own good. Bit like the Verity.

MadameChinLegs · 10/05/2012 20:43

Well, I covet it. I am 27. I have also seen a nearly 50 yo wearing it. It's versatile.

MadameChinLegs · 10/05/2012 20:44

Hahaha, MrsL, probably! Though I've only started recommending these last few weeks once I realised I wouldnt be attending any weddings so it was safe to let it out into the public

oohermrs · 10/05/2012 20:56

I love this shorter blue dress with the shrug, think I would show off all your best bits. Agree with Mrs Lettuce Spanx for sure! www.damselinadress.co.uk/shop/wedding/bridesmaids.aspx

PoohBearsHole · 10/05/2012 21:12

Sorry - tinternet issues!

Spanx - am fat not daft Grin they or similar (flipping corset if I can find it) will be definitely worn.

Does not need to be bridesmaidy more funky mother of the bride (my dc are official bm with lovely fairy style dresse Grin by I love Gorgeous)
Am off to look at my dress ideas

OP posts:
PoohBearsHole · 10/05/2012 21:16

I tried on this and am so buying it but wanted something funky coloured
www.damselinadress.co.uk/shop/dresses/evening-dresses/marissa-dress.aspx

Re the plum dress - that is so weird - I have in my wardrobe a bronze/gold (antique) coloured one with short sleeves from many moons ago, was thinking of resurrecting it and buying some kick ass heels etc. Will go on a search for that.

BTW - weirdly I do have a waist from behind but mummy apple tummy up front so you can still see waist iyswim.

MadameChinLegs · 10/05/2012 21:18

Mrs L.....we need you! Where's that dark red long sleeved dress you linked on another thread? Could that be The One?

Mrs L!!!!!!

PoohBearsHole · 10/05/2012 21:23

My worry btw is being mumsy - the engaged couple are super cool Grin

ElasticNipples · 10/05/2012 21:24

PoohBearsHole · 10/05/2012 21:24

BTW bride I think is in white, other old bm is in phase eight and kids in "oyster!"

OP posts:
ElasticNipples · 10/05/2012 21:26

MadameChinLegs · 10/05/2012 21:27

OK, so to sum up, you want funky, at least cap sleeves, on the knee, any colour?

MadameChinLegs · 10/05/2012 21:28
