Please feel free to send me a cyber slap but I am sat here tearing up because I can't replace a dress that I bought a few months ago as it has sold out. I am absolutely gutted, DH thinks I've finally lost it. It wasn't the dress as such it was how it made me feel. Pathetic I know but for the first time in years I actually felt sexy. That never happens to me. Jeez Louise I need to get over myself grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

What did you do to the original one? Maybe get a dressmaker to copy it?

It's from ASOS but they no longer have my size, have emailed them but they don't have any. Have looked on Ebay, Amazon etc but no joy. The original one ripped so I tried to fix it with this fabric glue called Supermend and it just ruined it so I binned it thinking I'd get another. Need to have a stern word with myself - it was just a piggin dress

Can't you look for similar styles?
I have a particular style of dress that looks great on me, and have a few different makes colours, but all a similar theme.

Find yourself a good dressmaker ...

Do you any photos of you wearing it? A dressmaker may be able to run up a copy.

Do they still sell the dress but just not in your size, in which case buy one bigger and have it altered?

Ohhh I see. DH once tried to fix a pair of work pants with that fabric glue, it is the stuff of the devil.

buy another. buy some fabric. get a dressmaker to make you a new one based on the one bought. return the one you bought while dressmaker makes new one?

OH MY LORD!!!! I BELIEVE!!!!! Just went back onto the website to post the link and they now have more of my size in. Soooooooooooo happy .

LOL! It fits so nicely and I love red. After 2 kids and being a loooooong way from my pre-kids weight it was the first time in years I actually looked at myself and thought, "you look good Blue,". Lesson learned here is, never try and fix a tear yourself - take it to an expert. Doh!

Did it tear along the back seam, Blue ? Just asking as I had the same dress in teal, wore it once and the seam split ( not, on this occasion, as a result of too small a frock ) so there may be a quality issue with it.

It was actually at the front where the split is to show the cleavage. Unfortunately, as I was drunk at the time I have no idea how I did it so it may have been me having an Incredible Hulk moment

It is amazing what a dressmaker can do.I had a dress which i had worn once and I managed to rip it right across the front near the arm hole. I was going to bin it but decided to take it to the menders and she was able to put a dart on each side for me. Glad you found another one.
