Hoodys and fleeces!

Yes I know this is a style forum...
I need a couple of hoodys and fleeces, I spend a lot of time outdoors in jeans and boots so keeping warm and comfy is a priority. My current ones are ancient, I like superdry, hollister style but without the massive logos. Joules is too bodenesque and overpriced, jack wills is worn by my next door neighbours daughters so what other brands are there? I've tried next etc but they are so thin and don't last.

Animal hoodies are warm.

Branded and pricy yes! But they are cosy and wash well.

CointreauVersial · 08/05/2012 13:20

I have a Gul hoody which I bought in a surf shop (in the sale).

I like it because it has my year of birth on it (can only assume that's when Gul started too). It is very thick and cosy.

I also have an Abercrombie & Fitch one DH bought in NY, but I expect it will soon be appropriated by one of the DCs.

Fat Face does good solid hoodies and fleeces too (but you are possibly a little out of season).

aerynsun · 08/05/2012 16:29

Weird fish - theirs wash well and last forever

AllPastYears · 08/05/2012 18:31

I have a couple of Fat Face ones, really cosy Smile. Not this year's though. If your local shops are like mine, winter is over (ha, ha) and they're full of flimsy floaty stuff (yeah, right!).

shufflebum · 08/05/2012 19:21

Yes tried fat face but like you say it's all floaty tunics and not a lot else.
I had forgotten about the surfy brands, used to have some years back ( i I had a wake boarding boyfriend) they were definitely nice and cosy but often quite branded. Will have a look.

Uniqlo has a big range of hoodies. I got one - admittedly during the winter - that is as warm as TOAST.

TheCinnamonGiraffe · 08/05/2012 20:01

Musto? I have a zip up jacket thing from there that just will not wear out, it's quite warm too. Must be at least 6 years old now! There stuff seem to be cut to give you a waist as well.

SarahJessicaFarter · 08/05/2012 20:17

Don't rule out Joules completely. I bought a Joules hoodie 3 years ago it is thick, good quality and washes really well. Love it. Try MandM Sports for cheap Superdry though!

georgie22 · 08/05/2012 22:54

I would agree with SarahJessica re. Joules. I have a couple of sweats and hoodies from there which wash and wear brilliantly and they don't look hideously out of date the following season. They're warm too. There's frequently codes kicking around too.

Smurfy1 · 08/05/2012 23:58

www.sportsdirect.co.uk is brilliant

sandyboots · 09/05/2012 00:03

Also topshop and gap?

4aminsomniac · 09/05/2012 07:11

I have a Rohan fleece, love it as it its warm but not bulky, it has sort of pulled threads in a grid pattern to reduce the bulk. Fab!

shufflebum · 09/05/2012 08:13

All the fleece lovers coming out If the woodwork Grin

Roxy, Sea Salt. Those are great. My favourite hoody though is one I got from cafe press with the Lost numbers on. And I've had several other cafe press hoodies all of which have been lovely and snugly and warm. They use the American Apparel make of hoody to put their slogans/logos on. The Lost one I've had for about 6 years and it's as lovely and soft as ever.

LolaAnn · 09/05/2012 10:08

if you have a TK Maxx nearby they always have tons of branded surf hoodies etc.

salemsparklys · 09/05/2012 10:22

I am horsey so live in hoodies, i get musto/joules/toggi and splash, but they have logos on

ToastedTeacakes · 09/05/2012 10:44

Not a fan of topshop, but their hoodies are just perfect.

Abzs · 09/05/2012 10:59

Rab
Jack Wolfskin
Both do really soft fleeces, thick and thin. I have the Rab powerstretch (size up though, quite snug) and love it.

Salamanda · 09/05/2012 11:27

What about Sweaty Betty?

Salamanda · 09/05/2012 11:27

I love Rab Abzs :)

PoppyWearer · 09/05/2012 12:43

Has to be Joules for me too, I'm afraid. Although the zips on mine always break in the end! I do wash mine once or twice a week though.

Abzs · 09/05/2012 18:35

I've been thinking about the Joules sweatshirts. I've got a voucher to spend and I saw a woman wearing one who was otherwise dressed just like me, and in the shop I work in so of similar lifestyle, and she looked nice.

chocoroo · 09/05/2012 18:45

Soul Cal are crap. I did have one while pregnant in a huge size though.

My faves are Hollister and North Fce at the mo. I also have a Roxy one and an FCUK one which are both over 10 years old and have last beautifully.
