What is their sizing like at the top?

I have a black tie event coming up and have spotted a few dresses on ebay that I love the look of but I am not sure if I should get a 8 or a 10.

I'm an 8, but the Coast size 8 dress I have is a little tight on top, but wearable, I am 34A. I'm just left with a bra imprint :)

ha i asked this a few weeks ago! I had to get a size 18, bigger than my normal size. So i asked on here if they came up small or if i need to diet..the verdict was that top half comes up small so beware if busty (that's why i needed an 18 - am 38dd)

(am normally 14 - 16 in dresses)

I can't wear their strapless dresses at all. Even the size 8 won't stay up on me. I'm not twig like, but I have a small rib cage. IMO their dresses come up quite big.

I think they come up a bit small, I went up a size in one dress I bought, but not in the other which was looser on top by design, IYSWIM.

Do Coast dresses usually only look good on size 8/10 people? Have a wedding coming up and I don't know whether it's worth looking there. I'm a 14 on the bottom and a 16/18 on the top due to big boobage. In fact, maybe I should give up on the idea of a dress when I'm all uneven. Sorry, should probably start a different thread.

My dress fits like a dream but i had to get the 18. It is very flattering and despite bigger size makes me look much slimmer (someone asked if i was a 12!!!). But that's just the style. I ve seen a lot of their evening dresses which really wouldnt suit me as I'd have to get my chunky shoulders out

MadAboutHotChoc · 07/05/2012 19:53

Bugger - the one I really like is an 8, don't have big boobs but am quite broad around my chest.

Picnic - a lot of their dresses would suit curvy women, but you need to get the right type for your shape.

I once sold a size 8 dress by them on eBay and it was an 8 but cameup teeny tiny looked more 4-6 i would say go two sizes up but ask the seller for all measurements first eg cuffs if applies, armpit to armpit etc

it's v bizarre i had to buy a size 18 to appear like a 12!
