Yes to the tassel, but I'm not sure I like the flat shoe style, personally.

I have some wedge heel ones, with tassel. I quite like them.

River Island perhaps? Depends if you want a heel. I have a black pair and a brown pair, one with tassels and a 4 inch heel (for special occasions, not every day). The heeled versions kind of drag them into this century a bit, whereas the flats are more classic, look great with cuffed dark denim jeans, blazer, etc.

Asos used to offer some decent leather versions (and patent), but not sure if they are circulating as much right now.

I actually snipped the tassels off my heeled pair because they were a tad huge, almost pompomtastic, which really didn't do it for me. Nice when they're subtle though.

I got these recently and they look
quite chic on. Very comfortable and I've had a few compliments.

I had a thread only last month Under another name. I love them.

It sort of screams a 50 year old at a polo club to me

[disclaimer I am a member of a polo club though not yet 50 so not for me]

warmandwooly · 08/05/2012 06:49

They remind me of salesman in the 80's with dodgy taches. Other than that they can look stylish on some people

LittleIllusionMachine · 08/05/2012 10:52

Definitely a yes if the rest of your look is quite young/trendy. Otherwise, 50 year old at polo club sounds about right!

When I got to the shops I tried and tried different models and it just didn't work. They looked too wintery and chuncky. So I bought these instead Gabor. Verdict?
