Acrylic v's Gel

hi guys
what do you prefer acrylic nails or gel nails such as shellac or gelish. What do u think the pro & cons are of each.

I currently have Shellac but my nails keep breaking which is ruining them.

I think gels are not as thick as acrylic. But gels have to be completely removed every time you have them done, while acrylics are just added to as the nail grows, iyswim.
