What is happening with Vie at Home

I have never used S&B threads before, but you glam ladies are the ony people I can ask, what is happening to Vie at Home? I have been completely unable to get the OSFB for ages, and now the website is having a 'makeover' so I cant check if it is back in stock (though they did say they would e-mail when it was back in stock but have heart nothing). When I say ages, a good 2-3 months since they had any in stock and it is supposedly their best seller.

I neeeeeed to know what is happening as the osfb was the only thing I found to hide the spots, blemishes, hairy top lip and single eyebrow slight imperfections I have.

TIA

I used to buy my One Step Face Base from my boss at work and she told me today that the rights to it, in a limited range of colours, have been taken over by a new company Lov skincare (backed by Sir Alan Sugar through one of the Apprentice candidates I think).

I remembered reading this thread a while ago so thought I'd let you all know.

If you want more info try

Hmmm ... Been deleted for posting a link to an alternative company to Vie at Home, as Vie has gone bust, but it's been seen as advertising 'my own business' which I wasn't at all! I didn't even mention my own business!!! No-one complained about the Body Shop link... Loads of other consultants and ex-consultants of similar companies post about and even links to their business' products, which I didn't even do, so I had nothing to gain by posting a link, other than informing others about a possible alternative to Vie at Home... Not fair and thanks to those that have complained to the mods. So much for freedom of speech...

I went to a LOV skincare party in July and have to say that I was impressed with the product range and after using them for several weeks am still happy with them.

Nic2512 · 12/09/2012 16:19

So is Lov the new start from Vie at Home then?

Bunbaker · 12/09/2012 16:32

I don't really know. The skincare range is nothing like anything I have had from Vie. It contains lots of natural ingredients, isn't tested on animals, contains no animal products or preservatives and smells nice.

The consultant who did the party used to be a Vie consutant, but I don't think think there is much of a connection because of legal implications.

emsadevil · 14/09/2012 12:50

hi ladies this is the 1st time ive used this.. al ill say is i dnt think vie at home will b coming back soon.. i am a consualtant wel use to b.. n round xmas i wasnt gettin my stock for customers.. i rang them few times and found out. the ppl who made the stock wasnt making it any more and they was in the middle of moving stock to france! god knows y! then my manager left n i stop ordering stuf as i knew this wud happen.. as soon as it re sold it went under n i got feeling it not coming bk. i do hav sum products left if u wud like to view them add me on facebook but i am making the aulbm public so u can c it. n my prices r low. but i dnt hav soft baige :( as i use it to that was the common colour.. my facebook is emma jones (leitch).. i hav also found another company called FM cosmetics which i am going to go in to as its simual to vie at home sells makeup perufume skincare and homewear. but the lady told me fm just did perfurme.. and only resenlty started wiv the makeup skin n home wear n the makeup looks sim to vie. so i dnt know if they hav brought it and change it.. but sum of the priceing is way cheaper then vie at home.

Hi Guys! I copied this from a post in money saving expert:

"I was a consultant for Vie early on when the make-up and skincare was second to none. I remember having a bit of a debate with Ros Simmons over the commission rates, the rubbish jewellery that they were forcing makeup consultants to sell via their mixed product catalogues and the replacing of top selling makeup for cheap rubbish. I was told that the jewellery was wonderful (I must have imagined all of those complaints and lost customers), and consultants made a fortune.

It appears what the company has done is continue to take money up to the point they shut the doors, which unfortunately is not illegal. We live in a corrupt society that allows these companies to trade in this manner without recourse, and it is always the public and staff that get shafted

As an accountant, I have yet to see a party plan company where consultants actually make a living, these companies tend to wrap things up in a lovely bow, when in reality there are actually a lot of hidden expenses and consultants are lucky to receive minimum wage, which is why these companies keep their consultants as self-employed, so, again, no recourse. They just blame the consultant for not working hard enough at their 'business', when in reality the money is just not there to be made. "

I was a consultant as well and the management were experts at putting 'spin' on every single problem. If an item was OOS you had to try and sell the customer another one. Just not feasible for products like Prime Time or OSFB. They made you feel inadequate when all along they had NOT been paying their suppliers - very underhand tactics. That said the products were very good indeed, just a shame the business was not managed properly considering there is demand for the products (even during recession).

StephLoves · 17/09/2012 14:45

I doubt Vie at Home will be returning, I have contacted a few people about this including the administrator as I had a quite large order with them when they went under. Very frustrating... not just for the money but also for the products which I liked.
I know the face base will be available under a new name with 'lov', and I have found quite a few of the older products and some ones that were about to be released through 'uk discount cosmetics' - I actually spoke to them and they said their supplier was stuck with loads of stock and not paid. Its all a bit grim really, looks like quite a few people got left high and dry, me included.

Hi guys. I've just come onto to this site for the first time trying to find out what's happened to Vie at Home. I'm gutted to find they have gone into administration. I've been trying to get hold of OSFB in soft beige (me and the rest of you by the sound of it!) or ages. Can anyone recommend anything as good please?

Also the supplier is the same original supplier as was with VIE but the products will not be made the same for legal reasons...it maybe called OSFB but will not be the same product so many are going down legal routes.

Wishlea · 20/09/2012 16:54

Hi. Just found this thread and thought I'd respond. Vie at home did go into administration as the new owner did indeed fail to pay suppliers etc... He also failed to pay the consultants and managers that were owed money from the company.

There is now a new company, called LOV SKINARE AND COSMETICS LTD which has NOTHING TO DO WITH VIE AT HOME.

LOV has, however, secured a contract with the former suppliers of Vie products and have rebranded and repackaged the best selling products such as the very popular ONE STEP FACE BASE. This is Now available to buy through LOV and is the EXACT FORMULA that was sold through Vie. It is available now in IVORY, SOFT BEIGE AND HONEY and other shades will be available towards the end of the year. it is priced at £21.50 per compact or you can buy 2, in the ame shade, for £40.

The company is not owned by LORD ALAN SUGAR but we have an exlusive deal with him and SUSAN MA, who was on The Apprentice, to distribute Susan's products TROPIC SKINCARE. they are a range of 100% natural, plant derived skin and body products that are all BUAV and Vegan Society approved. LORD SUGAR invested in Tropic Skincare and the products were relaunched earlier this year.

As far as I am aware, vie has relaunched itself, but, the products are NOT the original Vie formulations and they have been sourced in China and not Italy and Switzerland as they were before.

The current LOV cosmetics are produced in the USA to a very high standard and now sit alongside the old favourites like ONE STEP FACE BASE and our new versions of SKIN DEW and OUT OF THE SHADOWS ( which are improved versions of the originals. More products are to be launched later this month and In the run up to christmas.

Hopefully this has cleared up a bit of the confusion.

I was with VIE for over 12 years and was gutted when the company closed the way it did, but I joined LOV SKINCARE AND COSMETICS at the beginning and am having a fab time building a brand new business with them.

XXX
