How would you accessorise these dresses for a wedding?

I've ordered these dresses for my sisters wedding next month
red dress
and
blue dress
and I really like them both and can't decide between them. I think the accessories could be the clincher for me.

So how would you accessorise them? What colour hat/shoes/bag would you choose? Jewellery or not? Cardi, jacket or wrap? I love any excuse to wear a hat, so will be choosing a fantastic one - if you can't wear one for your only sister, when can you?

Extra info to save drip feeding:
It's a church wedding, marquee afterwards
I'm 5'5, mousey brown hair with highlights, brown eyes, skin that tans easily but is currently pasty white. I'm a size 12, pear shaped - but as I'm breast feeding at the moment I have a better cleavage than normal.

Thanks, and I'm looking forward to your ideas
Smile

The blue one is far nicer imo - I love it! the print makes it more fashiony and the navy is classic and sophisticated where the red one is tending towards frumpy to me.

Accessories wise I would go for either snake or nude shoes with a gold clutch and jewellery
or
fuschia shoes and bag

Either way I would stick to navy for the hat hairband or fascinator

Am I allowed to hijack this thread too ZuleikaJambiere? I was just about to post the same thing!

I'm 28, will be 28 weeks pregnant when I attend my friends (non church) wedding in this dress. I look like this.

I'm rubbish at this part so any help would be great!

shouldIbecrossaboutthis · 04/05/2012 13:33

I should add that pic of me is my current FB one, I'm dressed up for 80s hip hop theme party!!

shouldIbecrossaboutthis · 04/05/2012 14:58

impatient bump also worried I killed ZuleikaJambieres thread

shouldIbecrossaboutthis · 04/05/2012 16:45

uhoh, sorry ZuleikaJambiere Wine

FWIW, I prefer the blue dress over the red in terms of style, but the red might be easier to BF in? If you go navy dress, I would wear fushia shoes etc as suggested by FauxFox.

Have a fab time!

OP I too prefer the blue dress over the red and think it will look fab with a cream hat, I'd prob keep it simple and stick to blue shoes, blue with a splash of cream handbag...simple but stylish.

shouldIbecrossaboutthis you just made me swear (F-in-hell) out loud infront of my 5yr old DD LOL, clicked on your pic :) childhood friends (tip Jae):) how are you beautiful? and your Sis and Nephew? Congratulations on the pregnancy, so pleased for you. That dress is lovely and will look gorgeous on you.

Sorry for the hijack OP

FauxFox · 04/05/2012 18:40

how about these shoes shouldi ?

shouldIbecrossaboutthis · 04/05/2012 18:54

Woah PickledHegg small world, I think I know who you are, I will PM you! That'll teach me to stick my ugly mug up online Wink

FauxFox, I love the colour, but I just don't think I like the shoes? I think I don't really like peeptoes Hmm

FauxFox · 04/05/2012 19:13

bit high?
bling slingbacks
sandals
suede

ZuleikaJambiere · 04/05/2012 20:22

Hijack away ShouldI, I'm chuffed to have brought old friends together - a small world! Smile. I love that dress, and for a non church wedding, I'd copy the model and go for a flower in your hair, it looks lovely

I think the blue dress is my fave too, but I was worried navy was too 'sober' a colour for a summer wedding. But I think faux's idea of fuchsia is great. I think I have a fuchsia pashmina hidden away, so will dig it out to test the colour. Normally I'd go for cream, as PickledHegg suggested, but I'd like to try to be brighter for once and this seems the ideal occasion to push the boat out. Thanks for the ideas

Fauxfox, love the phase 8 ones.

Does anyone know what shade of purple that flower is in the models hair, I just can't find anything quite right!

FauxFox · 05/05/2012 15:43

burgundy?

shouldIbecrossaboutthis · 05/05/2012 21:32

I feel like burgundy is a bit too dark? Sorry, I know I'm annoying! Thanks for the suggestions fauxfox, keep them keeping if you have the will Grin

ZuleikaJambiere · 06/05/2012 01:07

Could you go for blue, to coordinate with the dress?
