They look really flimsy, are pastelly colours (for men and women) and have a tan coloured label at the back. Have seen loads of people wearing them in the last month, which is really odd as it's been chucking it down

bump - surely someone on MN must know

do you mean Tom's stealth?

i thought they were a bit ugly at first but might be swayed by the "do-goody" aspect of it all. oh and some of the styles are nicer than others, for sure!

still not the weather for them, though, so am in no rush to buy just yet....

TequilaMockinBird · 03/05/2012 17:09

Toms? Or Flossys?

I have Toms, it's like wearing slippers, I heart them Grin

LucyLastik · 03/05/2012 17:09

flossy's?

TheSinglePringleWillicopters · 03/05/2012 17:10

There called Tom's and I can't stand the ugly things!

TheSinglePringleWillicopters · 03/05/2012 17:10

They're*

Ambrosius · 03/05/2012 17:10

Toms? bloody expensive.

teejwood · 03/05/2012 17:10

but tequila are they not slightly soggy in all this rain?!

StealthPolarBear · 03/05/2012 17:10

no, don;t think that's it - they're not all lacey (can't think of a better word) just plain fabric. My daad used to buy a load of the sort of thing when going on holiday

OP posts:
hathorkicksass · 03/05/2012 17:11

They're toms - uni is full of them.

I think they look naff.

But then cool hip and trendy I am not.

Byeckerslike · 03/05/2012 17:11

I bought some firetrap ones from tkmaxx, they are amazingly comfy, however, after two weeks of wear they look a damn mess.

Admittedly ds spilt my coffee all over me and so they have coffee splases on, and i cant just bung them in the washer.

I also have a next pair, they are only just as nice :)

StealthPolarBear · 03/05/2012 17:12

flossy looks more like it. I had thought the label was darker, but maybe not

StealthPolarBear · 03/05/2012 17:13

Well if they're cool hip andtrendy, then my dad started it in the late 80s :o

Sound like Toms to me. You can get them in all kinds of styles, have a look at the office website, you can get them crocheted or solid material.

I love mine with a pair of chinos or skinnies. They are a bit expensive (£35), but most high street shops do their own version this year.

TequilaMockinBird · 03/05/2012 17:15

Grin I don't wear them in the rain

I bought them last year before going on holiday as they are so light and I was pretty close to my baggage allowance Wink

They're still fab and I can't wait for nice weather so I can wear them again, they're so comfortable!

They are a bit expensive but I looked at it as doing my bit for charity at the same time

StealthPolarBear · 03/05/2012 17:19

So many people do. I can see them as a holiday/summer wear thing but not in the city centre, in full coat & umbrella

OP posts:
whenskiesaregrey · 03/05/2012 17:22

I wouldn't wear mine in the rain, or if the ground was wet. They absorb water like a sponge and make your toes wrinkley!

teejwood · 03/05/2012 17:22

right tequila its all your fault

i have now seen a pair of toms peeptoe wedges that look quite comfy and might be calling to me Blush

what is the sizing like?

TequilaMockinBird · 03/05/2012 17:44
Grin

Hmm now, sizes are American I think. Hang on I'll go and dig mine out and tell you.

CointreauVersial · 03/05/2012 17:48

Christ, those are ucking fugly shoes.

TequilaMockinBird · 03/05/2012 17:50

Right I've still got the box

I'm usually a biggish 8 or a 9. Mine are a men's 10, which is a UK 9.

So I'd say go with your usual UK size. They need to be quite tight when you first get them as they do give!

That doesn't make much sense at all does it?! Grin

gregssausageroll · 03/05/2012 17:55

I like the Tom's!

cocolepew · 03/05/2012 17:57

Is it Toms that give a pair away when you buy them?

NotMostPeople · 03/05/2012 20:11

I can't wear Toms because my dd1 has them and I've made a rule that if she's wearing a fashion that I shouldn't. However the Toms ballet flats are fab and I'm going to get some of them when I can justify it being as I've bought four pairs of shoes this month already it might be a while.

orienteerer · 03/05/2012 20:14

Ahemm, those look like the very cheap Espadrilles I used to wear in the 1980's Shock.
