I think I've said it all really.
Usually I don't care but going to stay with swanky and possible judgy people this summer and so want to try not to look too terrible.
I'm 44, size 12 on bottom, size 10 on top. I know that doesn't sound too bad but am very un tonned and wobbly.
Can anyone suggest a miracle costume to hide all sins. Thanks

Try Debenhams. I hate swimming costume shopping as I am similar shape to you but Debenhams have some long body, bust enhancing ones that are quite good. Go for highly patterned as this helps hide wobbly tummy too. Good luck!

Thanks, everyone else seems to have opposite problem of lovely voluptiousness.

listens intently, its like you have just described me.

Is it just us then? What do you normally wear Scarlett. I bung on an old, boring, black m&s costume. Looks dull but at least I'm not naked. What kind of shape would suit us?

Will be watching this with interest, I have the same problem. I always find swimsuits assume if you have a big arse your breasts are going to be massive too - not so in my case. I am currently 14 on bottom and waist (its my waist thats the problem really, all my fat goes there) and a 10 on top. I did find a two piece that didn't leave the middle hanging out -it was from M&S - The top was a halterneck and padded and the bottoms were a hotpants/short style, - it worked well. The only other place I found was FIG LEAVES where you can buy separate top and bottoms, have a look here:
TANKINIS
some of them have 'ruched' sides that cover a flabby tummy slightly

humpdebump · 03/05/2012 11:03

link doesn't work, try here fig leaves
then go to tankinis

Thanks for the link. The problem is they all look great cos of beautiful women in them. I want to see what they look like on old, flabby, pasty, mum of three. I will have to go out and try on 10000 costumes, get hot and bothered start to hate the world and come home and shout at DH to make me feel better. I hate shopping.

I bought a lands end 'slender' swimsuit 2 years ago and its truly amazing- not as frumpy as the pictures! It was really expensive but still looks like new after 2 summers and lots of wear.

looks like its not. usually wear a retro two piece. but haven't been any whete near a beach or pool in two years. (since dc's)

hope to get a lovely one peice with a control panel in the font and padded cups seen a few in next i might try on.
