Are these dresses smart enough for a wedding?

Bought two dresses from Warehouse today but can't decide if either of them are suitable for the weddings I am going to.

Dresses are here www.warehouse.co.uk/fcp-product/307899 and here www.warehouse.co.uk/animal-print-pleat-neck-dress/Dresses/warehouse/fcp-product/308001

Both weddings are in August in England so goodness knows what the weather will be doing. One wedding is probably going to be very stylish with most if the action in the evening. Most guests will be older than me (in their 40s and older). The second wedding is a bit confusing cos it's meant to be relaxed and informal but is held at a very posh hotel in Bath.

Opinions (or alternative suggestions) please!

Yes both look good to me :)

Yes, both fine. Wear with heels (or if you can't do them smart pumps) and something like a cream blazer or a pashmina/cropped cashmere cardi and you'll be fine. In other words, don't wear them with trainers or a denim jacket!

I think the first is really quite informal tbh and sorry but I can't stand the second one.

i like the first, hate secnd. first looks fine for spring/summer wedding

Springforward · 02/05/2012 18:59

Both fine, but I like the poppy one best.

lunamoon · 02/05/2012 19:08

I prefer the second one.
The first one looks too ordinary for a posh wedding. It looks like something I might wear to a very informal bbq or even to go shopping in, that kind of thing.
I think the second one has more potential to be dressed up for the occasion. Large hat, clutch bag, heels, earrings and bracelet.

Poppy dress much nicer, can't stand animal print, but to be honest, it looks a bit too everyday for a wedding.

Odd choices I'd say and not cheap either. Not that smart, not trendy and not really that wearable after a summer IMO.

I think you could do way better and you have time to look.

I like the animal print one, not so keen on the flowery one, but it's okay.
