Dress for mascarade ball

Hi,

My works are arranging a mascarade party. Can anyone recommend me any suitable dresses or places where I can look.

I don't even know what type of dress will be suitable. Everything I look at seems to be too bridesmaidy.

I'm 5ft 4 and size 8/10

Can you borrow from a local theatre group?

Looking online it seems to be historical fancy dress that's required, Marie Antoinette etc. Probably any character fancy dress will do. Are there any fancy dress shops near you?

do you know what others are doing?

i think you have 2 choices, either nicely cut black [un bridesmaidy] dress with mask.

or

hire.

I'd wear an LBD and buy a mask from ebay

Thanks. I've spoken to a number of people going who are wearing normal party style dresses with the masks.

Yes, a LBD, killer heels and a fabulous mask. Have a look at VeniceMaskedBall, I like the idea of their masks on headband.
