I sent my broken GHDs to some website I found on google, and they fixed them and sent then back. Cost about £25 iirc. They're still going 12months later so definitely worth it!

can you remember the name? My GHDs are about 9 years old though...

There is a sticky above. New ones for £80 if that helps.

I'll swap my vvvv thin, lank , pathetic, horrible hair for yours!!

leftmysociallifeatthedoor · 01/05/2012 20:26

heroutdoors you wouldnt, you wouldnt. My hair is so thick it takes ages to dry. I can wash it in the morning, leave to air dry and still have to blast it with the hairdryer at bedtime!

£80 is out of my price range these days :(

I had the wide GHD's until they broke before Xmas. Like you i have vv thick hair. Couldn't afford to replace them with new ones so had a gamble on Remington Pearl straighteners - about £35 on amazon. They are fab - as good as my old GHD's and they come with a carry case and heat proof mat.Smile

Mine were about 4 years old at the time of breaking. I remember the website was called "GHD repair" but tried to google it, and about 3+ companies have this name or a variety of it! If they couldn't fix them, there was no charge. Maybe try googling and reading some reviews?
