I feel the need to scrub!

Do the scrubs get rid of those gravelly areas you get from oil cleansing?

littledolly · 02/05/2012 08:41

Another vote for Soap and Glory, Scrub your Nose in it. Love the fact that it's a mask too!

RoxyRobin · 02/05/2012 08:47

Another vote for the Boots No7 one here. The solid particles are tiny, so you don't feel you are gouging great lumps out of your face, and your skin is left looking lovely and clear. As MooMin says, a good one to get when you've got a £5 token.

SpagboLagain · 02/05/2012 08:55

I hate things with big particles, they hurt and I don't see how they can possibly work. I love E'Spa skin polish. Tiny, smooth particles, smells lovely, and skin feels so smooth afterwards. I use once a week.
For an everyday one, I second the clarins orange one. It's a cleanser too so just use one product and smells yummy.

I prefer the softer ones. I tried the No 7 Gentle Exfoliator, which the No 7 person said was gentler than the microdermabrasion one and it is still too scratchy for me, felt as though I had sandpapered my face, so I am using it up on my hands.

Another one I like is Clarins Gentle Peeling, it is smooth and silky, you put it on like a mask, let it dry for a minute or too, then rub it off, it all rolls into tiny balls and gives a very gentle but very thorough scrub, very smoothing.

Avon, dermabrasion stuff. Has won award. Really really fine grained paste. Not cheap. Best I've ever tried. About £18. I don't use their other stuff but this, is excellent.

FourYolksAche · 02/05/2012 09:32

I like the Nutrogena pink grapefruit one, cheap as chips, has salicylic acid too and smells divine.

southeastastra · 02/05/2012 09:33

i still use the aopri (sp!) one

just don't use too often or it can cause red veins

EllenParsons · 02/05/2012 10:17

I like the No 7 Beautiful Skin scrub for when I want something gentler or St Ives for when I want something harsher.

margerykemp · 02/05/2012 10:18

I got a really nice one from meals yard remedies which made my skin like velvet.

margerykemp · 02/05/2012 10:19

Neals

minipie · 02/05/2012 12:49

I use a muslin cloth to exfoliate. Does an excellent job if you really bother to rub every area properly and keep rinsing the cloth.

Kellamity · 06/05/2012 14:59

Which Neals one?

Another vote here for the soap and glory one. I put it on then wash it off in the shower. It's great, leaves the skin smooth and soft and the feeling lasts for ages.

Pelicano · 06/05/2012 20:14

Clarins refiner or Boots Time Delay both seem to have smaller (but lots of) the exfoliating gritty bits.
I love Origins papaya based Never a Dull Moment.

PrimaBallerina · 06/05/2012 20:25

The Clinique one definitely.

I have never understood how little balls rolling about over your skin were supposed to acheive anything - useless.

Clinique feels like you've sanded your face. In a good way.

wildfig · 06/05/2012 21:03

Another No7 microdermabrasion fan here. Although since my rosacea flared up, I've tried to be as gentle as possible on my poor skin - using a flannel every day and polishing twice a week with my Clarisonic Mia has made my skin smoother than it's ever been, but without the sensitivity.

lilaloves · 06/05/2012 22:06

St Ives daily micro dermabrasion is the BEST exfoliator in the world, contains aluminium crystals like salon traetments do,not just bits of peach kernel.

Quite hard to get now as may be discontinued.Try amazon.

4aminsomniac · 07/05/2012 08:08

Boots time delay micro dermabrasion for me. I used to get the odd spot, but once a week with this scrub, and now I never get spots.
