Which waterproof mascara?

My favourite waterproof mascara was discontinued a few years ago. Have tried Boots no 7, Elizabeth Arden, Lancôme....not great. Someone recommended Chanel....is this the one?

I defy anyone to have waterier eyes than me. (and have greasy lids too). I can only use Lavshuca by Kanebo (I get mine on eBay) or Clinique's Lash Power. Sometimes use a bit of the clear Clarins waterproofing stuff too just to make them go a bit further. I have honestly never found anything else that stayed put and didn't smudge on me....

Max Factor False Lash Effect waterproof - best one I've found and I've tried many, of many budgets. I swim in it, gave birth in it, have ludicrously watery eyes at the merest whiff of sunshine, and it stays put.

the MF one gave me panda eyes even from only wearing it on top lashes so i chucked it...but am ridiculously watery/ shiny though

drywhiteplease · 30/04/2012 22:31

I used to swear by Max Factor Aqua Lash.....the new one did not seem as long lasting, but will have a look. Also will look at the Clinique. Kanebo is not sold in my local dept store.
Thanks

Diorshow Waterproof mascara... Was recommended for my wedding.. Brilliant!

Likeaheadlesschicken · 01/05/2012 06:28

A make up artist recommended boots natural collections waterproof mascara, it's only £1.99 or 3 for £5 and surprisingly it is really good, you need to put quite a bit on to get volume but it doesn't look spidery. Worth a try for daytime use.

whitelillies · 01/05/2012 07:46

I didn't get on with the max factor false effect at all
I
Don't know what it is but I get panda eyes very easily .... Didn't get on with bobbi brown/ mac/ lancome/ rimmel/ maybelliene/ but I find t the moment that max factor 2000 calorie in brown black stays put nicely
I too swim and wear contacts
Guess it s about finding what works for you
Clinique has been recommended here lots - it s on my list to try

Remember if you re using waterproof mascara they tend to dry out quicker than the non waterproof so I find need replacing more often - so I m fairly happy not to have to buy the bigger budget stuff

googietheegg · 01/05/2012 07:56

I think all mabeyline waterproof mascaras - except for great lash - are really good.

Pinot · 01/05/2012 09:38

I've never found a decent one tbh

valiumredhead · 01/05/2012 12:41

No 7 waterproof - it's in a navy tube.

tunaday · 01/05/2012 14:40

The only one I've had any success with over the last 30 years is Blinc. Everything else no matter how much I was assured they were waterproof/smudgeproof just left me with panda eyes after a couple of hours. I've road tested blinc on a holiday in the med and it even stayed on then. And you only have to wet a cotton wool pad with hot water and sort of pull downwards slightly and it just slides off. It doesn't have great lash lengthening/thickening powers but I'm just happy to have found one that stays put.

Spookey80 · 01/05/2012 14:45

Get your eye lashes dyed? I have very sensitive skin and want ed to give up eye makeup so had mine tinted a couple of weeks ago, it's not as good as mascara, and I now use curlers, but much better than the smudgey eye look I used to rock, and feels cleaner too.

drywhiteplease · 01/05/2012 22:35

Went to Clinique today.....they have a "tear proof" mascara but not "waterproof". Assistant said it is good and only comes off with warm water, not cold......hmm.since I go to he gym and often in steam room(vain wearing mascara I know) did not want to risk it. Got Chanel....will report back. Could not find Boots naturals one and have tried No 7 navy tube one.
Hopefully I have not wasted my money.

Nyx Doll Eye. Awful name but it's great stuff. Doesn't clump, smudge, flake or run and never comes off.

AprilLilacs · 02/05/2012 02:43

Another vote for blinc - I have deep-set eyes with heavy greasy lids and only blinc doesn't smudge or transfer. Comes off when you want it to and not before.

Smum99 · 02/05/2012 10:16

Ye, Blinc, discovered it after a recommendation on here and it certainly works. It isn't the most lash buiding mascara but waterproof it certainly is..it's quite amazing, stays on until you gently rub it off.

lololizzy · 02/05/2012 18:04

i'm wearing blinc eyeliner at the moment in grey and love it...but the mascara was awful on me. After a few hours I'd find all the little tubes come off over my cheeks and had to keep flicking them off...they just slide straight off my lashes (and no, i wasn't in contact with water!)

EllenParsons · 02/05/2012 18:50

I got Max Factor False Lash Effect waterproof after seeing it recommended on here and I am impressed with it. It lasts prefectly through rain and wind, crying, sweating...

drywhiteplease · 02/05/2012 20:44

Just had shower and rubbed eyes a lot......can report after this scientific test that Chanel waterproof mascara is still on lashes and not running down face a la Alice Cooper.
Job done Grin
