Where to get tall jeans?

Afternoon all,

I'm tall with long legs and a long body and find it really difficult to get jeans which have a decent fitting rise. I've got a pair from long tall sally but wondered what other shops are specially for us talls, or have a good tall section. I find the normal shops with a tall section seem to have longer leg lengths but the same rise which gives me the most fantastic hideous muffin top!

Depends on how tall you are I guess! I am 5ft 10 and have had success with Top Shop at a 34 and 36 leg. They do a lot of their jeans in the 'tal' range. I also have Gap Long and Lean in a 34 leg and they are ok.

Top Shop as mentioned - they are my favourites at the moment.
Hit & miss with New Look & Dorothy Perkins tall.
Next Tall are quite good too.

My main issue is that New Look, Dorothy Perkins & Next are only available online (this bugs me A LOT).

Henwelly · 30/04/2012 15:45

You can order Next Tall items in the store to be delivered to the store if your not keen shopping online.

I buy Next tall stuff and it seems pretty good. Also agree with Gap - I find Top Shop skimpy for me!!!

Northumberlandlass · 30/04/2012 15:58

It's not the issue of shopping online Henwelly - it bugs me that shops don't stock their Tall ranges, so I can't just pop into town to buy trousers. It takes forward planning!

Curlybrunette · 30/04/2012 20:21

Thank you, I've had lots of disasters with dorothy perks and new look. I consistently buy jeans, were them a few times and realise how uncomfy they are.

So Next jeans/trousers have a longer rise too, not just longer legs? I'll give them a go. I'm 6' and need at least a 32" leg which isn't too long but have a ridiculously long body that really needs a long rise!

Next do their normal jeans often in 3 different leg lengths (29", 31" and 33" I think) and also do jeans in their Tall range which I assume must be 35" - worth a shot I would say.

ifancyashandy · 30/04/2012 20:30

I'm 5'8' with a 36 inside leg, size 12 (but short from hip to waist) & yy to Top Shop. Also French Connection Skin Tights are a fab fit, cut & wash very well.

More pricey but amazing are 7for all mankind.

lololizzy · 30/04/2012 21:10

from Topshop... Kristen range, or Leigh in the tall range

NarcolepsyQueen · 30/04/2012 21:24

True Religion jeans are beyond fabulous. Pricey - but flattering as hell and come in lanky as standard Grin

mysteryfairy · 30/04/2012 21:55

Next extra long (33 inch inside leg) in a high waisted style - sounds like your legs would be too short for the tall range

From top shop the two high waisted style are jamie and kristen. Again you sound to need the 34 inch inside leg from the ordinary section rather than the tall jeans. This is good news as it gives you a wider choice of colours.

There are some black leggings on the dorothy perkins site with a review from someone who is 6ft 4 and claims the rise is high enough for her - they were only about £20 so I've ordered them for a try out.

Also possibly levi curve id in a 34 (or even 32 inch) leg as they have started doing a high waisted style.

peasandlove · 01/05/2012 08:06

sounds like your body is long rather than your legs if you can get away with a 32 leg, why dont you try NYDJ (not your daughters jeans) which have a higher waist to stop muffintops

Curlybrunette · 04/05/2012 07:58

Thanks peas I'll have a look. It's definitely the rise I have more problems with and find a lot of shops that sell long jeans just make longer legs x

I second Levi's demi curve - I am 6', with a longish body and found some 30/34's straght legs in TK Maxx. I can tuck my tummy into them and they're the most comfy, non-arse revealing jeans I own! Much better than the Gap ones I had previously.

simonthedog · 04/05/2012 08:17

asda great bum jeans in long have a long rise. I'm 5'10 and they're great.

SoupDragon · 04/05/2012 08:19

Try Esprit which come in a variety of leg lengths.

SoupDragon · 04/05/2012 08:20

Esprit also do a variety or rises & styles and also seem to give good sizing info IIRC.
