HELP! Need product to remove/fade scarring on legs...

Suffer terribly with ingrown hair and consequently have marks on my legs (and stomach) Blush from picking them out with tweezers. Have tried bio oil and didn't find it to make much of a difference. Is there anything out there that would do the trick? I moisturise every day and try and exfoliate the area as much as I can. What about some of these products that remove the top layer of skin - not sure what they're called or if that's even what they do - but something more drastic than exfoliation.

Any suggestions?

I had the same and I really sympathise. What fixed me was lazer treatment on my legs and bikini line. After that it took about a year for the marks to be gone - I also didn't do any sun exposure during that year so I wouldnt get patchy.

Its expensive but now I can just shave whats left of the hair with no redness or ingrowing - its amazing really. No more infections either. Hopefully someone else will have some suggestions as well. I was a bit unhappy with the cost but my DH said I had to do it as he was so worried about my skin so at least I didn't feel guilty about spending that money.

Thanks for your reply Art. Is it laser hair removal you had? How many sessions did you need to have? And how much did it cost (if you don't mind me asking)?

Yes. I had about 12 in the end as it was a large area so that was about 1000 euros. This morning I shaved my legs and wore shorts with no tights and didn't think about my legs once while I was out - I could never have done that before so I think its worth it. I have back acne and horrible kerotosis on my arms so its nice that I have one good area now :)

Have you tried Weleda Sandthorn oil btw? I find that puts skin in better condition and helps healing. I'm really over lotions now, I think lotions don't help ingrown hairs and bumps etc. I would also guard against overscrubbing as that can overstimulate hair follicles and make them go hard (someone told me). I have appalling skin though so what doesn't work on me might work on you. Have you got an understanding GP who would have a look at it and give their opinion? I think its unlikely that you'd get NHS treatment - my health insurance wouldn't stump up despite me getting staph infections in my legs, but it would be good to get an idea of why you have this problem in the first place.
