Help help help. I have two weddings in the next two weeks.
Next Saturday in a marquee in the bride's garden, the following Saturday black tie in a castle.
I have about £300 to spend. Haven't been able to concentrate on buying something as we are doing construction in our house and it has been leaking all weekend so I have been running around with towels and saucepans catching drops. (7th circle of hell)

So here is the help that I need from you lovely style mavens...
1st question: can I wear the same dress to both? Or do I need a floaty flowery one for the 1st one and a glitzy one for the second? Ideally I would like one dress that can do both

2nd question: have you got any links to lovely dresses that could work?

I am a size 6 - 8, brunette. Completely nork-less but with good legs and ok arms.

Please help, I will be very very grateful Thanks

With a budget of that and a size 6-8 you'll be able to get something fantastic.

Haven't got time now to look but have you tried coast? Always good for black tie/wedding guest.

I reckon you could wear the same to each although depends if it's the same circle of friends.

Do you already have shoes/accessories or do you need those too?

lumbago · 30/04/2012 09:37

Ll Bennett davina

lumbago · 30/04/2012 09:38

Order from John Lewis. In a 6. Or their black strappy one with kace. Silk £249 ish.

lumbago · 30/04/2012 09:38

But the second one will be cold. DavinA all the way

CarpeJugulum · 30/04/2012 09:39

Same dress but different accessories?

Wrap for posh v. cardi for less formal. Big diamonds for posh, subtle gold/silver for garden.

Also saw this in rl. The acid green is awesome.

I thought about LK Bennett Davina but I just thought everyone would know it (and possibly some other people would be wearing it...)? What do you reckon

this is pretty Could be dressed up with a light grey jacket/blazer and clutch for your black tie wedding, and a big foppy hat, and a wrap for your garden wedding.

more young and trendy

sh1t · 30/04/2012 09:58

bit more casual

tak1ngchances · 30/04/2012 10:07

That coast one is pretty. I also like the way you can wear it strapless or not, and with the bow around the front or back.
Do coast sizes come up big or small?

OP posts:
lumbago · 30/04/2012 12:08

coast one is a bit bridesmaidy

Hatescolds · 30/04/2012 12:53

Seen the Warehouse one in RL ( second link sh1t)- is lovely

tak1ngchances · 30/04/2012 13:24

Bridesmaidy eeeek. I do not want to look bridesmaidy.

Budget can go up to £350 if necessary? (clutching desperately at straws)

lumbago really? It is a bright yellow cotton sun dress with some fancy tie at the front.....I thought NOT bridesmaidy at all.

Going to check out Reiss...

HATESCOLDS oh that is good to know. Very good! I really love it.

Henwelly · 30/04/2012 15:56

I would go with one dress and maybe wear different accessories.

It wont let you link directly but towards the bottom the Jirin is gorgeous, keep it simple for the first & you could wear heels and gitz for 2nd wedding:clothing/new arrivals/

On this page the Tiffane is pretty:
