Just bought 2 pairs on a whim, is there an upper age limit to wear them? Don't want to get laughed at!!

Also what shoes to wear with them? I was thinking ballet pumps.

£77 for a pair that you would need to cover due to camel toe!!

I personally think coloured jeans are a throwaway fashion item so have bought a cheap pair from TU which I love wearing.

My Tesco ones have gone through the wash once and are all faded though... :(

Cream silk top

I m (almost) 35 Wink

dingdong3 - try La Redoute. My candy pink and purple ones are 2 years old and they still look brand new.

dingdong3 · 30/04/2012 17:02

THanks ujjayi off for a peek! :)

I love them.

Have got a £££ lavender hudson pair and also red and pink ones. I like them with pale grey or navy or white on top. And weather was better wore them with my hasbeens which looked good.

The only thing is the very pastel colours are quite unforgiving on the thighs - bizarrely less flattering than white jeans.

Been wondering exactly this. I tried these on in Next today in purple, and despite skinny jeans usually looking terrible on me, these looked fab - no muffin top or builder's bottom in sight. But a) I'm 46, and b) do I really need more purple in my wardrobe?

scarlettsmummy2 · 30/04/2012 17:10

I have bright green and a dark aqua pair. I love them! Have been wearing with white and navy and an assortment of coloured scarves. Nude wedges when dressing them up and nude leather loafers when dressing down. Both autograph at marks and Spencer's.

MadAboutHotChoc · 30/04/2012 17:11

I think purple is a great winter colour - I have bright red which is great for most seasons and will still look good in summer. Wear mine with ballet flats and plimsolls.

My DD has cobalt blue and I love these - again such a good colour for most seasons.

I'm feeling like an old fogey now - it goes against the grain, avoiding a fashion I really like and willed into being because I don't want to look like my daughter's tragic twin.
Maybe I could find some straight ones? I do already wear coloured cropped chinos, which she doesn't so far.
< hopeful >

MadAboutHotChoc · 30/04/2012 18:22

Shotgun - I make sure I wear mine with nice t-shirts, blazers, scarves etc rather than the teenage way of wearing these with grungy t-shirts and hoodies.

SkinnyVanillaLatte · 30/04/2012 18:27

Skink, where did you get your cropped skinnies?

ShotgunNotDoingThePans · 30/04/2012 18:49

Erm that's how my girl wears them, Mad.

MadAboutHotChoc · 30/04/2012 19:05

Shotgun - I bet she looks great :)

ShotgunNotDoingThePans · 30/04/2012 22:05

She does, thanks < takes credit >.
But she's kind of cornered the market in feminine tops with pastel skinnies and scarves in our house.
Think I'll definitely have to investigate the straight cut alternative. Might mean braving Per Una Grin.

UnrequitedSkink · 30/04/2012 22:11

Skinny - here. I'm really pleased with them, they're flattering, incredibly soft, and reasonably priced.

SkinnyVanillaLatte · 01/05/2012 08:09

Thanks Skink. They look lovely - and I think I'll be with you with the pale yellow ones!
