33 and never done my eyebrows

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 27/04/2012 21:49

I have noticed recently that my eyebrows have really started to spread especially downwards.

I think I need to do something about this - please advise me...

Would it be foolish to have a bash myself? Just want to remove the hairs that are on their own iyswim, just a tidy, don't want to reshape brow or anything

Does it really hurt? Am I going to faint and be found bruised bleeding and unconscious on my bathroom floor with tweezers embedded in my eye

What equipment do I need? Brand and model. All this S&B stuff is a bit new to me.

Thanks :-)

They are good tweezers. However I would still get them done professionally and then use them to tidy up.

joanofarchitrave · 27/04/2012 23:17

You can buy 6 pairs of shit tweezers which don't work for £12, or one Tweezerman pair which actually work. Your choice.

Sometimes you can find ones for £8 or so which are OK too.

I'll be honest, I've moved over to buying a pack of disposable razors - the maintenance time required to keep back the wolf face by tweezers was just taking over. It does require commitment though.

piprabbit · 27/04/2012 23:19

I love my Tweezerman tweezers. I think they have some sort of promise to resharpen them if you send them off (might be imagining that though).

livealoha · 27/04/2012 23:25

Definitely get them threaded should cost around £7- £10 and lasts about a month. (maybe longer if fair like me)
Then buy tweezerman tweezers to keep on top of it

TheCraicDealer · 27/04/2012 23:27

No, you're right pip. They're wise to the fact most people won't bother sending them off though!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 27/04/2012 23:28

Tweezerman worth every penny, honestly.

Mspontipine · 27/04/2012 23:38

Mother and I recently gad ours threaded at a booth type arrangement in a shopping centre - was £5 each and did a fab job too. Did insult us both slightly after by asking if we wanted our top lips doing Shock. We declined, for now Grin

Mspontipine · 27/04/2012 23:39

(£5 per person not brow)

EllenParsons · 27/04/2012 23:40

Get them threaded professionally.

I wouldn't dream of trying to shape my own eyebrows with tweezers as I know I would most likely make a mess of it. Threading is cheap, quick, easy, relatively painless so IMO it's a no brainer!

Littlepumpkinpie · 27/04/2012 23:41

If you have never bothered about them before I would not go for threading for the first EVER shape up. Go and have then waxed reason I say this is threading chuffing hurts like buggery the first time you have it done. But if those wax strips are on they will be taken off its quicker pain wise.

DinahMoHum · 28/04/2012 07:35

i used to do mine myself with those eyebrow strips, but recently ive been getting them threaded in superdrug for £7 every few weeks, and it looks so much better. Youd be surprised. Dont be scared of getting them shaped. Its subtle and still looks natural.

I'm 33 and never done my eyebrows too. Never will as well, far too many stupid looking woman around with faces like barbie dolls (i.e pencil line eyebrows, "flawless" foundation that makes their skin look like plastic).

It's frightening the amount of real life "dolls" their are walking around now days, I really don't understand why anyone wants to look like that.

DinahMoHum · 28/04/2012 16:08

i cant understand why so many women dont care if they look like frida kahlo, but each to their own.

SunshineOutdoors · 29/04/2012 00:49

Jealous of people who haven't touched their brows. From attacking mine as a teenager into a trendy at the time very thin brow I now despair of them ever growing back properly Sad

Oh well, I suppose in the grand scheme of things there are far worse problems to have. Still want lovely thick brows though Grin
