I love the l'oreal ones but they don't have a huge range.
They last all day but I would like to get some new ones.
Need to last well.

The best eye shadow in the world is Bobbi Brown Long Wear eyeshadow in Black Pearl - it looks fierce in the pot (sort of a purply black glitter) but on the lid it transforms you into a goddess and lasts all day/night and is extremely subtle.

I also have the gold one - again, it looks like a pot of glitter but on the eyelid it is subtle.

You just need a swoosh of one and a bit of eyeliner and you look amazing - no fecking blending or highlighting or fannying about - just a swoosh and go.

Urban Decay do brilliant eyeshadows. They are my favourites.

Mind you, best cheapo eyeshadows are called Sleek from Superdrug. 8 quid iirc for a palette of 12 colours. Usually cheap eyeshadows are crap, but these have great pigmentation and staying power. Really recommend them.

Bobbi Brown cream eye shadow. Masses of colours. Also love Becca eye tints.

You can use the cheapest eyeshadow and have it last all day if you use primer first. Urban Decay do a nice one but recently I have been using a thin layer of Sudocrem or Johnson's nappy cream and honestly, I had to SCRUB my eyeshadow off yesterday, and it was Collection 2000 stuff from the pound shop! It intensifies the colours too.

I have a mac primer which is great.
Need an eyeshadow I can buy in store in debenhams. Got a £5 voucher towards the price.
They don't have mac or bb or beccaSad

agree with BrianB. invest in Urban Decay Primer Potion and it extends the wear of any mediocre eyeshadow! (e.l.f cosmetics do a copy that is fab and cheap too)

As someone mentioned Sleek (from Superdrug) do amazingly pigmented eyeshadow palettes. their 'Storm' or 'Bad Girl' one is great for smoky eyes, and the 'Au Naturel' is fab for daytime neutrals (cheaper than the much raved about Urban Decay 'Naked' palette). there is also a range called MUA in Superdrug, and their single eyeshadows are amazing for only a £1 each!

if I'm flush then MAC eyeshadows are great. they come in loads of finishes (satin finish are my faves as not too shimmery).

If you want to get it from debhanhams with your voucher then bare minerals do lovely soft shades that look delicate, you'll need a good brush though as they are loose powders. Or for intense colours urban decay do amazing brights and glitters. I concur on the primer too!

Stila eyeshadows are lovely - especially "kitten" which is a great all over lid colour. The pigmentation and texture is great.

lauriefairycake that Bobbi Brown one sounds lovely, I think I'm going to go look at that tomorrow.

alwaysrunninginheels · 25/04/2012 20:28

Another bobbi brown vote for the long lasting cream eye shadow. Lovely colours and lasts ages.

DontForgetTheLightAlesLawrence · 25/04/2012 20:33

I agree re: Bare Minerals. They have a fantastic range of stunning colours.

You can apply them wet for a more intense colour. Gilding, I believe it's technically called.

whackamole · 25/04/2012 21:19

Definitely Urban Decay! I have the Naked2 palette and I am actually in love with it. I use it every day, the colours are beautiful.

I got mine from Debenhams - it is (I think) £36 but you get 12 shadows and a gloss (not sure what you get with the Naked palette - a primer maybe?) and it is well worth it.

I've heard it called 'boiling' when you use shadows wet.

Oh, also, I have recently bought the Natural palette from Illamasqua. It has an off-white, blackest black, dark brown and an antique goldy sort of colour. It was expensive but is beautiful!

ihatethecold · 26/04/2012 11:18

thanks everyone. would like the urban decay but i thinks its prob too exp.
have never tried bare minerals eye shadow!
