I don't know, also Boots started doing Steam Cream which I love, then withdrew it almost instantly? I asked why and assistant said she didn't know! Very annoying

therumoursaretrue · 24/04/2012 22:06

Oh no. Really!? I'm so gutted! Very strange as they are owned by Estee Lauder.

I used to work for Smashbox and love the products so much, might text my old manager and see if she knows anything!

suburbanstyle · 24/04/2012 22:08

this makes for interesting reading

PaintedToenails · 24/04/2012 22:16

Will you still be able to get it on QVC?

lololizzy · 24/04/2012 22:30

blimey surburbanstyle, really wasn't expecting that

Greedypiggy · 24/04/2012 22:33

Smash box are launching a UK website. Not operational as yet, but soon.

suburbanstyle · 24/04/2012 22:34

No, not sure if it has had any effect on them closing as most people don't seem to have heard the story. Just remembered reading that article when it was written.

SuperDuperJezebel · 25/04/2012 08:27

The debenhams lady told me it was because they were relaunching the smashbox counters later in the year.

valiumredhead · 25/04/2012 08:44

I seem to remember the info in that link - shocking!

ToastedTeacakes · 25/04/2012 09:02

A shame, I quite liked them, they were the only cruelty-free counter at our local shopping centre too. At least they were the last time I checked..

shelldockley · 25/04/2012 11:09

Glad I saw this thread, I love the photo finish primer and having just checked online, no one seems to be selling it anymore! I've managed to order some from QVC though.

cocolepew · 25/04/2012 11:14

Someone on the acid peel thread used Smashbox primer but was told Lanacane(!) had exactly the same ingredients in it apart from SPF. She tried it and said there is no difference.

MrsMeow · 25/04/2012 13:05

Lanacane the anti itch stuff?!

Dawndonna · 25/04/2012 16:23

I can't believe that after reading that, anyone is still buying the stuff.

valiumredhead · 25/04/2012 17:13

Interesting as someone on here yesterday said that they hated the name 'smash box' as it was like the term used for violent sex.

Ryoko · 25/04/2012 17:40

Until a couple of days ago when I signed up to the website (upon the promise of a free sample when the site starts). I had never heard of or recall ever seeing them.

The fact someone got raped I really don't think has any barring on a product more so the name which sounds like some cheap crap for teens.

cocolepew · 25/04/2012 17:41

Yep anti itch stuff.

MrsMeow · 25/04/2012 18:30

Cool, will give it a go :)
