Does anyone ever have this problem with bra's?

In one shop you're one size, in the next you're a different size? It drives me nutty!

Yep, dropped £20 on an impulsive purchase of two playtex bras (reckless move with two dcs with me). Got home and tried them on to find they fit lovely except that I don't have torpedo shaped norks and they pook at the pointy end. I can either stuff them with cotton balls which looks a little peculiar or try and offload them to a torpedo norked woman on ebay.

Arrgh stupid laptop.

So how many bras did Tyniclogs buy??!!! And how many cotton balls will she need??Grin

Seriously, agree, no such thing as a standard size anymore.

Tyniclogs · 24/04/2012 21:50

Sorry, we have a stupid mental laptop which obviously got masssivley excited by the thought of pooky norks. I've recently gone from a 36J to a 36C with an operation and I've had to start from scratch with bras...I thought I'd be able to buy loads of bras but have reaally struggled with sizes. Having no time alone ever to try anything on is mainly the problem. There's always a small man with me looking at my 'bloobies' (dc not dh).

lurkingaround · 24/04/2012 22:16

A male laptop then?!
Gosh 36c sounds like it should be an easy size to buy for. I'm 30E or maybe 30F and it's a pita buying bras. Or looking for the size. No two fit the same. I don't know how women can buy bras online. They never bloody fit.

rumpleteaser · 24/04/2012 22:32

Try being in a country where apparently no woman has boobs bigger than an E cup!!
Have to get all my bras off ebay and post most of em back again!

Big or small we're all doomed...I find gaffa tape and a vest works just as well.

vix206 · 25/04/2012 17:53

Yes! There's no standardised bra sizing system so it's a nightmare. Once I find a brand I like its fine, but general shopping is hard!

feelinghappynow · 25/04/2012 17:57

I agree, got measured this week and my sizes were mad compared to what i had been wearing, so i bought a few of the same brand and style just different colours so i know they fit. Took about a stone of me when i looked in the mirror!!!! I find it hard as I have a small back size but large cup and can't always find anything more than a DD, or larger back sizes to go with the cups. Some of them just look scary big too Smile

Sorry to hijack the thread but Tyniclogs, I've also just had a breast reduction last Thursday (with free nipple graft) also going from 36j to about a 36c (will be fitted at dressing clinic tomorrow with my sports bra). How did your op go? Are you healing well?

As for bra's I found as a larger 36j I could only fit into fantasy bras and maybe a Freya bra, now that I've had my reduction I'm hoping that I'll have better luck with bras off the peg.
